Suunto 7 update 30-06-2020
-
It worked! Thanks!

The customizable screens is amazing! This is the number 1 thing I was hoping they would add to the watch/app. The customization is very robust too. Able to choose 2-6 custom slots (with heart rate zone around edge and overall time at bottom always shown) as well as many tiles as you want. Plus you can set just about any stay you can think of. I like having current pace and overall average pace on tempo run days. So happy with this update

@Dimitrios-Kanellopoulos
Where is route navigation??
Nothing? -
@Dimitrios-Kanellopoulos “Choose the training data you want to keep an eye on during an exercise by creating your own customized sport modes in Suunto mobile app. Your own sport modes will appear at the top of the sport mode list in your watch.” How is this done?
-
@Urban-Olofsson use the Suunto phone app, tap on the watch icon in top right corner. Here you have the sport mode customisation function.
-
@giulio it doesn’t appear in this update.

Let me add, sync, wait for the sync and follow the instructions above.

Hi @ all!
Given that Suunto now counts steps does it make sense to let Fit count steps as well? If I disable Fit on the watch will Google Fit sync my steps with suunto so that I have the counted steps in the google fit app?
FYI:
suunto step counter right now 1668 steps
fit step counter right now 1183 steps.
THX!
-
Fit: 972
Suunto: 1 011 stepsFor what reason should I use Google fit, now?
-
@macdav exactly my thoughts.

Suunto App and Google Fit uses different algorithms.
Google Fit is more “conservative” and Suunto App is closer to how traditional Suunto Watches count steps.So it’s up to you to choose which suits you best. For me Suunto’s variant is better, but some people coming from other WearOS watches to Suunto 7 might have their data in Google Fit and prefer Fit metrics.

@pavelsamokha @Dominik-Moser @pavelsamokha
interesting finding! I would have thought the data base would be the same and the watch’s OS do the counting.currently I have 960 steps in FIT and 956 in Suunto -> very small difference and Suunto more conservative
also I find that the FIT steps are not updated in real time. Maybe different time of sampling the counter
-
@Massimiliano-Mirannalti found it! Thanx.
-
I think, if I remember correctly the steps etc should eventually align. It’s just different refresh / sync periods.
I might be wrong though
-
@Dimitrios-Kanellopoulos Yep, may be I’m wrong and it will align now
-
hm, right now I´ve got 3174 in fit and 4352 in suunto. That`s quite a huge difference.

Hello, Im a new S7 user! love the machine! buy the great machine and first update!! Im happy with Suunto.
-
I find the Sport mode customization super useful for the S7, as you can design displays with 2 big numbers only that are much more readable on sunny days with the S7 screen (and a low brightness to save some battery) than the standard displays. Good job! Now I only need to be able to load routes and my S7 will be perfect for me!

@Dimitrios-Kanellopoulos “Power saver tilt” is broken after the update. “Tilt-to-wake” works fine, though.
