Issues adding activity manually
-
Yesterday I had a case where I unintentionally stopped my hiking session and therefore had to start a new one. Actually it happened when navigating a route and wanted to zoom in and out and somehow I stopped recording (handling with +/- is a bit fiddly)
Back home, I exported 2 sessions as FIT files, combined them into one via external tool and then…Surprise no 1: it is not possible to upload/add activity manually via gpx or fit file like on Strava
Surprise no 2: it is not possible to add any photo to any activity whatsoever. When clicking “tap to select photos” a blank gallery screen is opened. I checked, my SA has storage permissions
Surprise no 3: it is not possible to add any elevation data. There is a forum thread on this issue from last year, but nothing has been done

I think this was never there, not even in Movescount, but would be nice to have it. You can use Sportstracker web as workaround, but you will lose some data.

In Android, at least, wait, it can take some minutes to appear, but it does eventually. This is while you edit the activity and you can upload multiple photos. If you click the camera icon in the activity summary it opens almost instantly but I think you can only select on picture.
Surprise no 3: it is not possible to add any elevation data. There is a forum thread on this issue from last year, but nothing has been done
We hope this will come.

@cosmecosta thanx for feedback

Hi. This was available in movescount. You could have imported gpx as a route, and add a move manually then add this earlier imported route to it.

yes and no…I mean you have 3 steps and I think the OP asks for import directly a fit o gpx file directly.

@morskilav My understanding is that the API to add moves manually is there but not open yet. Hopefully that will change.

True. Let’s hope this comes soon anyway. It shouldn’t be too difficult to implement.
