RESOLVED: Movescount and device settings out of sync. Please synchronize your Suunto Ambit3 Peak now!
-
ISSUE HAS BEEN RESOLVED.
Hello -
I am logged into http://www.movescount.com/gear and I see my watches settings. I customized the display screens.
I see a message saying:
“Movescount and device settings out of sync. Please synchronize your Suunto Ambit3 Peak now!”I can confirm that is the case because the new data screens are not on the watch.
I plug the watch into the USB and let it sit for a while. It never syncs. I have Moveslink 2 for Movescount app installed on my Windows 10 computer and it is currently running in the system tray. When I open the app, it takes me to a screen “Connect USB cable to your computer”.
Is this the correct app I need to have the settings to sync from www.movescount.com to my Ambit3 Peak? or am I missing a step? Windows makes the sound when I plug in the watch to USB so I feel like windows is recognizing it.
Thanks for any help.

No sooner after posting this, I finally figured out the solution. I went to the settings of my watch while it was connected to USB. I went to “Connectivity” screen and chose “Sync now”. This did the trick. I guess I was confused as to why there was no “Sync now” button in the windows app or why it didn’t even just do it automatically. It seems not very intuitive to have to force the sync from the watch while plugged into the USB. Thanks everyone and sorry for wasting your time reading my question!
Take care.

@suunto867 you should check in connectivity settings if it’s set to auto or off. I suspect it’s set to off in your watch because the sync works when you activate it manually from the watch. If that is the case, set it to auto. Syncing through USB cable always works immediately when connected, at least for me.

Did you made those Movescount changes while your watch was plugged in? Or perhaps you didn’t have internet connection at that moment you plugged in your watch? Or was your firewall concerned about Moveslink2 making connections?
There’s no active connection, polling from Moveslink2 side or pushing setting updates from Movescount. Thus Moveslink2 application starts it chat with Movescount service only after you’ve connected your watch to USB and it has synced data from the watch, it then checks just once with MC if there’s anything new to send to the watch. So you either make your Movescount changes before connecting to usb, reconnect your watch to trigger new sync or force sync manually. You also might just had a random glitch or there was some short term issue at Movescount side.
Autosync option in the watch menu only affects syncing with mobile app.
