Suunto App ... Nothing working!
-
I was in between garmin and Suunto. And decide to buy Suunto (9 Baro)… no a cheep one. Feel like I was betrayed… I would better take garmin Fenix … 🤯 and no one answer us yet. At all. And seems like all support is still sleeping or what…? Second activity done. And since Suunto app is also not having many functions… I wait to upload on strava to see some details!!! (And have to be alert when finally it will be uploaded to get in fast and hide my HR…) ️

That’s why I am still on Movescount. Sorry, couldn’t resist.
Nobody touches Movescount code so it just keeps working consistently. Using SA at the moment is like flying an airplane while finishing building it.

I have exactly the same problem with Suunto app (iOS + Suunto Spartan Sport).
Yesterday evening I tried to upload my last training activity with no success (I’ve even seen it in the app but when I tried to view the activity there was an error like “this activity doesn’t exist”.
An hour ago I’ve logged out and reinstalled the app. Now I even cannot log in with the right email/password, and when I’m trying to restore the password, I get “unknown error”.This is annoying as ever, I very much hope they fix it very soon.
I never thought that there will be a moment when I would miss running with my old Apple watch and its buggy Strava app, but it seems that today is the day. -
Able to login now and yet spinning and spinning

@silentvoyager said in Suunto App ... Nothing working!:
Using SA at the moment is like flying an airplane while finishing building it.
That’s why we’re beta testers . . . Spirit of adventure and all that
Everything is up and running again now, and the backlog of yesterday’s activities have all been gradually dribbling out to Strava, TP, etc. over the last hour and a half.

@Snojster Do yourself a favor and just exchange it for a Garmin now. I won the Ambit 3 back in May. I’ve regretted not selling it to get a Garmin pretty much ever time I’ve had to upload since. Weekly problems, inconsistent performance, no documentation or support.

@bradylee610 so what are you doing here?
-
@bradylee610 Well everything works just fine and I’m happy with my new toy. Hope it works now.

@bradylee610 Go and read some Garmin forums. There are unhappy Garmin owners, which you may find hard to believe. The Ambits are not yet fully supported with SA, probably better to use MC. My S9 works like a charm with SA. There are some things missing but I can live with that as they are likely coming.

@Dimitrios-Kanellopoulos wishing someone had given me the same advice nearly 3 months ago. Warning others. When you (Suunto) actually start keeping the community up to date on what’s going on, and your products actually work, maybe I’ll change my tune. Until then, I feel justified in trashing Suunto App and the team (not) supporting it.

@Brad_Olwin sadly, when I got the watch, all the information online from Suunto was saying that Movescount was discontinued and no longer supported and I should download Suunto App. Again, official communication from Suunto was misleading and unhelpful. I’m very much not impressed with Suunto as an organization. Pity, because the gear seems solid, but if the UI is garbage, the best tech is still virtually worthless.

I came from a Garmin Fenix 5 in November to the Baro 9. I’d never go back to Garmin. I needed 3 Fenix 5 to get one what worked. Gave up Totally on the Fenix 3HR after having 4 different models and went back to the Fenix 3 which was good unless it corrupted the files or just froze.
Apart from a few sync issues the Suunto 9B has been flawless. SA also wasn’t working for me on Monday. But hay a day of not syncing activities isn’t the end of the world. And you know what this used to happen with Garmin also… And if you think Suunto customer service is poor go try Garmins. They still have the same barometer drift problem from the Fenix 3HR in the Fenix 5 plus.

I think garmin is not a good choice for op, try a polar, it’s better

@bradylee610 Believe me, is not the most smarter choice…
My previous Ambit 3 Peak was the best watch that I had, I even like it better than my current Suunto 9 Baro, I don´t know if is because I used this more time…
I used these, and also Garmin Fenix, Samsung Frontier and a friend lent me a Nixon Mission, between all, I prefer Suunto for trainer, outdoor activities and as adventure watch.
With Suunto now maybe is a bit confuse for some users what app to use, really, sometimes also I be a bit angry because I can´t use only the SA to do all things, but I fight with apps, NOT WITH THE WATCH.
My experience with Fenix is REALLY BAD, the worst. Random freeze of the watch, not the app, the Garmin app was beautiful, but the watch it froze several times in the middle of an activity at midair (flying). There no option to check at forums, reinstall, reset or anything at this moment. Later was fixed with a fw update but also later other users reports similar behaviors after this.
This NEVER happened me with a Suunto watch. And maybe this created my confidence with the brand and watches. Apps, web and desktop software is the second step for me, I really like have confidence on my watch when I do an activity, with the confidence that the watch not suddenly will not turn off… Now I use the MC Web + MC app + SA, more than anything because I like some manual settings for the sport modes, edit my POIs, etc and I hope that very soon SA can do it everything into one unique app that sounds as the more logic. -
