Ambit 3 Peak Suunto app - sports mode customisation
-
RIP Ambit
-
Just choose another location and/or Ambit3 model (non-Saphire, with/without a HR belt).
And navigate through Suunto site, your own bookmarks and Google can land you to some discontinued product variants. I can still see plenty of in stock Ambits listed.
-
yep still available and at premium priceā¦ but this is off topic so moving on lol -
@lohtse
but it seems to start to be discontinuedā¦
I have my watch, so I donāt have to worryā¦ but itās sad that Suunto gives up their best watch ever -
@TELE-HO how do I post pics here? Had an interesting message from support
-
@TELE-HO I thought Ambit2 is the best: it has ANT+ and is capable to get pace AND power from Stryd the same time

doesnāt the Ambit 3 do that too?
-
@lohtse nope, this seems to be an issue with the BT connection or somewhere related to that. I have tis statement verified from Stryd directly:

Jul 18, 09:24 MDTHi Johann,
Great question and I apologize if our article is still not clear!
Most Ambit 3 watches can show Stryd power. The exception is Ambit Run 3 because is does not have the ability to pair with a power pod (note that Suunto does not distinguish between a bike or run power meter). No Ambit 3 watch can show Stryd power and also get pace/distance from Stryd (unless you have two Stryds)
<snip end>
So if you see power (connected as power pod, I assume), pace/cadence/distance is from GPS. And here the updated support page on behalf of my questions: https://support.stryd.com/hc/en-us/articles/360026388734-Do-the-Suunto-Ambit-2-and-Ambit-3-and-other-Suunto-watches-work-differently

@John-M
you can upload local stored or copy paste screenshots by this little āhard diskā sign with arrow upwardsā¦ -
@TELE-HO its only the set with heartbelt.
You can only see that because of the cache. If you come to the side, you can choose the watch only. noooooo R.I.P. (meanwhile) -
Hi,
I bought Ambit3 Peak this week and Iām little bit confused.
If functionality of my watch will be limited by new suunto app, can I return it in terms of guarantee (2 years from now)?
Regards,
Michal. -
@Michal-Zawitowski
keep it and use MC until SA is ready -
@Michal-Zawitowski
in this case I could suggest you return your ambit3 and buy a suunto 9ā¦ -
@zhang965
S9 baroā¦ if heās rich this could be an optionā¦ no waiting, no uncertaintiesā¦ andā¦ again, NO waiting!
-
@TELE-HO
What do you mean by no waiting?
of course 9b users are still waiting as well, we are just waiting with a different attitude than ambit users
-
@zhang965
for different features you mean?
ā¦and Ambit users are waiting for the big IF question -
Reading forums and opinions about s9 I think it has more issues than ambit3peak.
Firmware/software for s9 is still in ādevelopment modeā, but watch is already available.
In case of ambit3peak, Im only worry are about new app. -
@Michal-Zawitowski
the ambit has the issue that we donāt know where the SA integeation is heading to. i still believe it will be supported by SA but then there is no web interfaceā¦
the S9 is the new flagship and for me it would be a brilliant watch that will improve softwarewize in the next couple of months. for me it was too expensive and had too many functions i donāt need, like color touch screen etc. -
So. Any news concerning porting Suunto Apps (the little programs we currently can download from movescout) and/or enabling us to modify the displays of the training programs to the Android app, or at least a stand alone application to mofify the watch at home?
Or are we - just like I mentioned in an older email - just being fucked by the company and left in the rain, after spending several hundred euros on a watch which will be crippled soon?
As I already mentioned earlier: If the second case applies, I already can happily announce that I will do whatever is possible to push people to buy Garmin products instead as long as I can type on a computer.
You are welcome o/

@Alexander-Beck
i agree mostlyā¦
but garmin also has compromises and my experience with customer service: basically inexistentā¦ but yes, garmin is huge!
