      @Dimitrios-Kanellopoulos hi! thank you but nope, the running performance index on the ambit3 is the one wich calculates the VO2max with firstbeat algorithms . the estimated VO2 must be from suunto.

          @Dimitrios-Kanellopoulos yes kind of right. ☺ the running performance is licensed from firstbeat which is calculation the VO2max.
          https://www.suunto.com/Support/Product-support/suunto_ambit3_peak/suunto_ambit3_peak/features/running-performance-level/
          suunto does not call it VO2max because they say its not the Vo2max in your blood alone but also how effective your running style is.
          for example: all my uploaded old garmin activities gets an VO2 indication but not the running performance index. estimated VO2 must be an suunto propriety value of speed and heart rate.

            @mario_b I believe you 😄

            Here is the funny thing that confuses me.

            Spartan has est VO2 -> Ok Suunto thingy
            S5 (that is firstbeat) has also a thing called est VO2max.

            Do you think that the difference is on est VO2max vs estVO2 ?

            To be honest now I am more confused.

                  @Dimitrios-Kanellopoulos 🤣
                  as i understood the firstbeat metrics are not named the same by the companies using it:
                  example: all the same
                  firstbeat: Body resources
                  sunnto 5: rescources
                  Garmin: body battery

                  firstbeat: VO2max Fitness level
                  ambit3: running performance index
                  Garmin (Fenix 5): VO2max
                  suunto 5: VO2max

                  estimated VO2 (it does not tell “max”) as i found out, is an suunto propriety form of current heart rate and pace. and can be tracked even with the phone and heart rate belt. it does not tell you the maximum oxygen your body can consume on highest level, it rater gives you an estimating of how many oxygen ml/kg/min your body currently is consuming at that second. which i think is in relation to calculating the epoc.

                            @mario_b Thanks for the insight. Indeed it looks like it. At the point, I was using movescount (I use my app now) I had just started with sports and was not so interested in vo2 etc. Lately, I do take a peak from time to time but it has no value for me as I better listen to my self, it shows better. But hey, this is really personal opinion just to excuse me from not knowing this bit of the Suunto ecosystem. I do well understand why people want to have those metrcis and to be accurate.

                              @Dimitrios-Kanellopoulos i will take a look on it. but having the watch for not more then around 24 hours, i will get comfortable with the new suunto system first. meanwhile i like it alot. 🙂

                                @Dimitrios-Kanellopoulos i take it with a grain of salt too. listen to my body first, second the metrics. but i get a very good guidance from it. for example seeing early that i should change something on my training and it works for me.
                                also for long time reviewing. you really can see, what you did, how much it improves you. (in my head, i can’t remember, but here its a nice graph to see)

                                  How I understand my vo2 max.

                                  I did a lab test to find my max vo2 max.

                                  And I use the estimated vo 2 to compare my current running exercise.

                                    I have a question (and I don´t know if it was already discussed here, I can´t find anything about it):
                                    Why are not (in case of Ambit3) EPOC and VO2 data (which we see in Movescount) displayed in Suunto app?

                                    Thanks for reply or link, where this was discussed here.

                                            @estevez i would say, they don’t have it “yet”. “i think” it is an app work in progress. and better add thinks step by step and clean, instead of trying to put all in at the same time, and having problems. (but thats only what i think).
