Suunto 5

@suzzlo 150 jump from 300 to 450 seems a bit steep for better materials, compass, better battery…unless more FB features are added to 7. What about release date?
-
-
@dulko79 If I can buy one S7 in black friday for less than 400€ I will be very happy
-
@suzzlo a suunto 9 on Amazon is about 380 euros
-
@suzzlo I agree .
-
@zhang965 I know, we are all just guessing…rumors are fun
-
@suzzlo I would love to see a S5 Baro for the compactness of the S5.
But I agree with you in terms of range and price.
Can’t remember when the SSSWHRB was released -

@zhang965 the S7 should have 8 Firstbeat features, since 5 has 6 (https://www.firstbeat.com/en/consumer-product/suunto/suunto-5/)
This is why S9 should have them immediately !!!
No,
we should keep the logic:
Suunto 3 has 18 firstbeats, suunto 5 has 9, suunto 7 has 3 and Suunto 9 has ZERO! -
(off topic)
@silentvoyager I do believe OHR can work well for some of us, and don’t think it’s measuring the cadence. See below a list of runs I did with exactly the same cadence (154 spm), and you can see that the average HR (all measured with S9 baro OHR) is different for longer runs where I tend to be tired at the end, or for runs with some ascent (or when I had too many drinks the day before, but that is not shown in the table :))…
How would I get these results if OHR was locked on cadence? -

@Mi_chael I don’t get it, do you mean firstbeat should mention suunto 9 with 0 firstbeat features on their website?
-
There is no S9 just these 3 watches.
-
@zhang965 Suunto has - so far - no license for the S9 for any Firstbeat feature acquired. That’s it!

@Brad_Olwin Thanks for the reply, sorry if you had to repeat yourself.
I don’t understand the argument of not wanting the option of having features on the watch, if you’re not interested then you can ignore it or disable it.
Sleep tracking and all HR tracking is there with the option to disable.It is not that simple, there are extra screens on the S5 not on the S9, one is Resources and another VO2 max. I don’t mind the data somewhere but I do not want the extra screens. I have used the features on the S5 and as I stated before, for trail running the VO2 max is not helpful. For road running is good. The fitness features are great for individuals that want plans to improve or maintain fitness and do not train for competitions.

No compass… really? whoever buys it for navigation functions will probably be disappointed. Is it a component that really affects so much the price? for navigation the compass really makes the difference while you are on the road
-
It’s true, but it’s the cheapest suunto.
I would not be wrong but is a lack that has effects only under 3km / h, speed above which the direction is indicated by the gps point (it is also so for sss, ssu and 9)
