@RiphRaph
They are changing target group and whole strategy, which probably has something to do with the takeover by Anta sport. The problem is the way they chose to do it. Creating this level of uncertainty can’t be part of the plan, it’s more likely just a case of “let’s try this and see what will happen”. They are obviously having some serious management crisis with no clear direction for future yet. I’d really hate seeing them going out of business, but they are surely playing with fire now. -
@RiphRaph I wonder how Suunto will solve the situation with the law. Sorry for my English. I come from Poland and the consumer’s right gives me a two-year warranty. What if in 1.5 years I lose support from Suunto and my Ambit 3 will not be fully functional? Will Suunto return my money?
-
Done.
Ambit 3 peak returned to Amazon.
After Ambit 3 run, ambit 3 run, spartan sport and Ambit 3 peak… bye Suunto.
-
@Luis-Andés-Olmedo Have fun with your Fenix! Hope you find what you are searching for…

Forced obsolescence, as Suunto does, is reprehensible by law (French law : L.213-4-1 )
By the way, Apple is paying the price. But if you don’t want everyone move to Garmin … Find a solution quickly. -

@jthomi thank you, for sure I’ll find it. It’s not the first Fenix I have

I was not on the forum for a while - too busy with new job - but still testing SA.
Personally as a runner plus with light maintenance gym cessions at home the SA is what I need. I have deleted MC apps and just using SA.
I thought that not having all my previous moves stored in MC yet on SA would be an issue but as I am using SA since it has been released I have now enough previous activities on it to see my progress. And any at some point all the MC moves will be there too - so not to worry about that.
My only question would be for the watch update will it be via Bluetooth or still via computer - sorry if I missed the information on that but I have not been on the forum for months …and I am too lazy …no too busy being running/training for having a look at this on the forum.
Have a good weekend all.

Bonjour,
Hi,
So my Ambit 1 that is still functioning very well, and will still be functioning well for years to come, will then become useless?
Not being able to change the screens and not being able to upload routes, poi’s, etc, and not being able to download workouts will make the watch useless.
Especially for the earliest customers that were the early adopters for the new Suunto products, this feels very wrong. If my Ambit 1 becomes useless, I will not replace it with a new Suunto watch, but I will rather look at the competition. Excluding the Ambit 1 is very contradictive to how it was put in the market.
My Ambit 1 replaced a Polar s720i. It looks like that old Polar may outlive its replacement…I hope and expect that Suunto will come back to this decision and keep all the Ambits alive.

@Brad_Olwin Any suggestions for better web portals? I’ve been only using Garmin since 2007 and am not all that savvy.

I use TrainingPeaks but you need to pay for Premium. It is not expensive but I understand why some would not want to pay. 30 day trial and $115 US per year. I have heard sporttracks.mobi is very good, it looks good to me but I only tested it a short time. It is not free. There are desktop apps that are good as well. For Mac OS, rubiTrack is excellent, I have used it a long time. Again, none of these are going to be free but offer much more on the training and stress analysis than any of the freebies.

$115 per year* (ha sorry Brad, just saw your edit)
The free version isn’t so bad either.
For others there is runalyze, golden cheetah, and you could probably figure out a way to upload stuff into Garmin if you wanted lol.
-
@Brad_Olwin Runalyze is a good one with some similar features to Training Peaks that’s free, too. It doesn’t automatically sync with Movescount (you have to manually import FIT or TCX files into it at present) but they are planning to have it auto sync with the Suunto app sometime early this year.
-
FinalSurge gives for free a quality just really near of SportTracks.mobi (60 around $60USD/year) or Training Peaks ($115USD/year).
For my, by far, SportTracks.mobi is the one more consistent and better relation price/quality. -
@Brad_Olwin funny thing that sportstracker.mobi looks very similar to suunto app, fonts etc

True, but comparing the history (including the still great, which is highly functional, local Sportstracker PC-Programm) sportstracker.mobi could have been the “inspirational side”… and however it is, having a number of sportstracker-features in SA would be soooo good!
And BTW I can really live with the non-App-“policy” of sportstracker, which is Vince grating on web an big screens? -
This app is unusable.
I really do not need to see stock photos in my app. I want to see distance, cal, avg hr or literally anything but photo that takes half the screen with no infromation what so ever!
And is it possible to make this app to add my distance from last month?
This app is lacking basic analysis? I have to copy all the data to Excel by hand?Beside SS I have suunto quest with bike pod - and now perfectly fine sport watch is obsolete… Heh.
And i have bought SS only of love to Movescount and all the moves stored there - like everyone I am animal of habit. I didnt want to switch to garmin’s platform. Now I wish i did.
I understand that you have to do sth and it is unprofitable to support two services but you cannot just kill some of yours products just like that (you can but you shouldnt). I just cant understand why you are shutting down better product? Is there some kid of war between Amer and their idea of Suunto App and former staff that did Movescount?
-
@Bartłomiej-Michałow yes, the stock photos are useless, they add NOTHING, and take half the screen. The summaries in the app are also lacking.
