Routes disappear from my watch - suunto vertical 2
-
I have an issue for maybe around one year where the routes I mark as “use in watch” in the app (less than 15 of them) will initially sync between my iphone 13 and watch but then within an hour they disappear, this most recently happened just before a race where I made sure the route was loaded an hour before the race and then at the start of the race all the routes are gone. initially this was happening with my vertical so I bought the vertical 2 thinking it was an old watch problem but now it is happening with this new watch too!
for reference I have only 1 app and 1 watch connected. why is this happening and what can I do about it. I don’t believe i can be the only person. I did search and find one other person posted about this issue last November but I dont see any resolution on the issue.
Please can someone help meedit because I dont seem to have ability to respond to a follow up question. it is a mix of routes from strava and those created within the suunto app. they all disappear

@Angela74 are this routes synced by some third-party service?

@Angela74
I have exactly this problem on my 9 Peak Pro and it’s been happening for about a year.
I’ll check the night before a planned run or race (or sometimes only an hour before) that the route has synced to the watch. When I go to start the route - whether through the exercise menu or through the navigation menu - the route list is empty. If I manually sync from my phone they reappear but this isn’t always viable a few minutes before a race start or if I’m outside in pouring rain.It doesn’t matter what the source of the routes is - created in Suunto app, Strava or Komoot - all routes synced disappear. It doesn’t always happen but there’s no obvious pattern to when it does/doesn’t.
I’m also using IoS on an iPhone 13 mini.
I’d assumed this was just one of the many bugs the 9PP has been left with, so it’s interesting you’re seeing it on a Vertical and Vertical 2.

@MKPotts first time I hear about such an issue. Sounds like something is wrong, so I’ll report it. Now if it is firmware related, I doubt the S9PP will get it fixed (unfortunately), but if it affects 3 different watches with different firmware may be backend related. I never had this issue, so I would need the logs of someone else.
