      @simspi I believe Bluetooth devices are a problem in general with Suunto. Today I was cycling with a race a and a Suunto chest strap and sensor. After an hour, the sensor just stops. At home, starting a new activity and the sensor connects immediately. So the sensor works. Can’t tell if the sensor is
      Failing or the watch. Very stupid that these simple things can’t even work consistently.

        @brechtvb I have also seen this problem and reported it to Suunto. It was supposedly fixed with latest update, but still affects some, so I reported it again.

            So it’s more than 4 months now that the Bike Sensor is unable to connect reliably. Besides that issue I like the watch but it is really disappointing that even original Suunto accessories aren’t working well. In the meantime there haven’t been any updates to the watch so I’m still keeping my fingers crossed it will be fixed with the next update. Does anyone have an idea, when it will come?

              Suunto support told me I shouldn’t expect a fix for the Bluetooth problem very soon, if any at all.

                @elbee wauw, that is quite off putting for people buying suunto. To add: there are people here defending suunto for “you buy for what is advertised”, but even that is not flying here.

                  @brechtvb

                  All brands have their fanboys who are quite annoyed if you mention some negative aspects about their beloved products.

                  I don’t necessarily want a suunto. I just want a sportwatch that supports my activities. Nor too large and not too expensive. The race s ticked most checkboxes. And it still have less annoyances than my previous garmin.

                  But one and a halved year later I’m disappointed how suunto tackled big errors in their firmware.
                  I can sort of live with the frequent worse than advertised battery life, but the Bluetooth problems are really a problem. Also what I read about the frequent crashes on the race 2 and vertical 2 on the latest firmware… It would be nice if suunto acknowledged the problems and started work to fix them.

                    @elbee the battery life is not an issue to me either, if you charge it while showering, you will never have an issue. Only the trail runners on 3 dat hikes will be. And charging on a power bank triggers bugs and boot loops (I have experienced).

                    Reading Bluetooth badly is really a big thing to not fix by Suunto.
                    They have the opportunity to support many devices, and they can acquire a pre-digitalized signal, no need for any algorthms to digest signals.

                      Me too. I guess it depends on the power bank, but that is a huge issue…

                        I’d just be happy if they could go back to the status prior the update that broke it. Battery life on my Race isn’t an issue at all. Actually it runs so long that I almost forget that it needs to be charged from time to time🙈
