I would like to request a more complete Sun & Moon feature for the Suunto Vertical 2 and other Suunto outdoor watches.

At present, the watch provides sunrise, sunset, and the current moon phase. However, for outdoor activities, this information is still quite limited.

      ☀️ Sun & Twilight

Please consider adding a complete daily table showing:

      • Astronomical dawn
      • Nautical dawn
      • Civil dawn
      • Sunrise
      • Solar noon
      • Sunset
      • Civil dusk
      • Nautical dusk
      • Astronomical dusk

It would also be very useful to show the remaining time until sunset and until the end of civil twilight, especially during hiking, trail running, mountaineering, and other outdoor activities.

      🌙 Moon

      Please also add:

      • Moonrise
      • Moon culmination / transit
      • Moonset
      • Moon phase
      • Moon illumination percentage
      • Moon age

Ideally, users should be able to view this information for Today, Tomorrow, or another selected date, with the calculations based on the watch’s current GPS location.

🏔️ Why this would be valuable

The Suunto Vertical 2 is designed as an outdoor and navigation watch, so accurate sun and moon information can be extremely useful for:

      • Hiking and mountaineering
      • Trail running
      • Camping
      • Night navigation
      • Landscape and outdoor photography
      • Stargazing
      • Planning activities around sunrise, sunset, or moonrise

For example, knowing only that sunset is at 18:30 does not tell an outdoor user when civil twilight ends, when nautical twilight ends, or when the sky will become sufficiently dark for night navigation or stargazing.

Likewise, displaying the current moon phase is useful, but knowing when the moon will actually rise and set is much more practical when planning nighttime outdoor activities.

Suunto has already introduced the Tide widget, and the existing Sun & Moon widget provides the foundation for this functionality. A more complete astronomical calendar would therefore feel like a natural extension of the Vertical 2’s outdoor capabilities.

I would really appreciate it if Suunto could consider adding this as a future firmware feature.

Please upvote this feature request if you would also like to see detailed Twilight, Moonrise, and Moonset information on your Suunto watch.
