At least the support sent a reaction:

„The frequent disconnections and reconnections are occurring on the BLE firmware (Bluetooth) side.

It is worth noting that the longest disconnection period of the heart rate belt was approximately three minutes, after which it successfully reconnected. Therefore, the issue is not an inability to reconnect, but rather frequent disconnecting and reconnecting.

Based on the current analysis, the issue appears to be related to the connection stability between the BLE firmware and the sensor.

However, the current logs do not provide enough evidence for us to draw a definitive conclusion. In order to further diagnose the issue, we need to attempt to reproduce the problem. Therefore, we will now escalate this matter to our testing team for reproduction.“

      We will see …

Hi, to add some information to the matter, I noticed that if I had “WRIST HEART RATE” disabled, it wasn’t detecting my external chest strap (a new Polar H10). I selected it to avoid interfering with the watch’s optical readings. Therefore, after enabling wrist heart rate in the exercise options, it automatically detects the strap and monitors my heart rate during exercise.
I would have to test if, after a medium-length stop during an activity, refueling, a forced pause, and restarting the activity, the heart rate recording with an external band continues… I understand that it will always be available with the optical sensor of the watch.

Hello everyone. Once again, the watch or its latest update has decided not to function like a top-tier watch… in fact, it doesn’t even register data with the watch’s optical sensor. The heart rate strap (a NEW Polar H10) has been disconnecting lately, but this time it’s a complete disaster.

I submitted my data using the app. I was using the Notes app, Live Tracking (also with limited Bluetooth connectivity), and race track navigation. Latest update, Android 16, Motorola Edge 60 Neo, custom sports mode—what more can I say… DISAPPOINTING that it doesn’t even record heart rate 🙂‍↕️

@manno02 I’m not using the vertical 2 but this issues seem to happen across several devices. I stopped using the chest strap until this is solved because the OHR works fine on the Suunto Run.

I, again, reported an occurrence of my watch loosing connection to my heart rate sensor and asked if suunto is able to find the problem.

                  Here is their reply:
Regarding the three questions you raised, we are currently unable to determine whether this is a software defect or an occasional hardware issue. We need to clarify that we have not yet received any batch feedback on this issue, therefore we cannot currently guarantee that it is “fixed” or “will be fixed in a future version.”

So, don’t get your hopes on a fix in the next firmware update.

Same here for me today: Polar H10 was connected but after 45 minutes of running suddenly HR dropped to “0” and optical HR sensor took over (you can tell because data is crap 😞 ) Battery of H10 is OK. Next run I take my Ambit 3 with me to compare, as Polar supports two BT connections. Or my Ambit 2 and ANT+ connection …

Please also report it via email to support@suunto.com
I don’t get the impression suunto support is very active with this problem and more reports might result in more attention.

I got same problem, but with power/cadence from Favero assioma pro rs-2. It happened after stop. Activity was recorded fine with Wahoo (Ant+). I’ll be very upset if V2 was my primary device for bike rides…
                        Just sent logs @pavel.samokha
