Trash can as POI? Why?

Trash can as POI? Is there a way to hide them! Personally, I do not find this useful for orientation and, in addition, the map is overloaded.
I have already reported the map error (Black Grid)

@Sascha-Domres there is a selection of public POIs in the maps. Inside cities maybe the use is limited. The focus of Suunto watches is on outdoor navigation.
The POIs currently cannot yet be hidden.Regarding the black grid: have you tried a soft reset of the watch?

@Egika Thanks for the feedback. In my opinion, trash cans as POIs also make little sense in nature. That should be revised … well it’s just like that… Regarding the Black Grid, I have made a soft reset in the meantime. I do not know if it will work again because I am no longer on site.…

@Sascha-Domres We have trash cans as POIs but don’t have mountain summits as POIs.

@maszop In the classical sense, POI points are for orientation. Trash cans hardly count among them. My question / suggestion was for a possibility to hide them. I am quite able to do without trash cans in nature and yes I take my garbage with me. Don’t you think POI like shelters, bivouacs, summit crosses, water sources, viewpoints … are more important for orientation? There are so many more important POIs. Only the space on the display is very limited. Wouldn’t it be better for everyone to configure their preferences and hide the personal unnecessary ones so that clarity is maintained.

And luckily in places where you need orientation (in the wild - not in the city), most likely not too many trash cans will populate your screen

Arguably, on a Suunto watch POIs are not that useful for orientation because they only show up at higher zoom levels (like 500 ft / 200 m), which means you’ll see them only when you are fairly close - within 1-2 minutes of running or 2-3 minutes of walking. Perhaps that might work OK in a city when you look for a public restroom, but I can’t imagine that being of very much use for orientation in any other case. And panning the map at a high zoom to find what you are looking for isn’t a good experience. I have a hard time using that even in an area that I am very familiar with.
If I am doing a long run and look for a water source, for example, I need to be able to see that at a much longer distance.

@sky-runner You’re right… ! I see it similarly… it is certainly very difficult not to overload the Maps… POI like water points would certainly be useful on larger zoom levels… But they don’t care about trash cans at all…
