Suunto Race - HR bug - Current firmware version - 2.53.42
-
Hi ,
I have a bug where my heart rate data shows about 100 BPM higher than it actually is.
For example:
I started a trail run this morning by clicking ‘start’ from usual menu and whilst waiting for GPS lock to occur it shows my HR as 170 BPM which is clearly incorrect. (im standing still)
Upon starting the run it appears to drop to normal levels but completely ruins the HR data for this exercise.
Does anyone else have this issue with their Race ?
thanks
Marcus

@marcus-fox I have a Race S. From time to time I had high values in the first minutes. Now I load the activity some minutes in advance, e.g. when I change clothes for the training. No problems anymore since then for me. I don’t say that it should work for anybody but for me. At least it is worth a try. A bit inconvenient the first times but now I am used to it. Part of the pre run rituals.

@Gunnar thanks thats good to know

it looks like the watch is maybe doing some calibration for HR before you start but clearly mis reads and includes the faulty data.

I have the same issue, but it is not only the latest firmware issue. In my case, this issue remains through the latest few firmware updates… For running I use heart belt and for walking and cycling wrist HR, but much more activities are ok then not ok. But when I didn’t have heart belt I was angry for this issue for running - for ruined values as you said…
