@matteo_000 you can enable AOD in sport mode settings. Than it works. But battery is drained faster at least on Race 2.

@Tomas5 I have try but with display set in sport mode activity

        • brightness: ! HIGH
        • display: ALWAYS ON
after around 8 sec + 8 sec the map goes dark.

I know that the battery drain would be faster but if I need (sometime during the ride…) to see the map for the correct route now is impossible especially for MTB use.
I think that a specific option would be the solution; maybe to stop the display brightness to the first step after 8 sec. will be the best.

@matteo_000 than it is one more reason to miss MIP displays

@Tomas5 it still goes very dull and hard to read with AOD. I’d happily loose battery power for the option of being able to see map clearer.

Certainly is the case where the V1 is much better.

I prefer the V2 in every other area!

@Audaxjoe I agree with you. The best would be choose one option in the setting menù of activity.

Like this for the handlebar bike/mtb use insn’t usefull.
One compromise would be to choose (with option) to stop the darkness display to the first step after 8 sec without AOD. 🙂
Would be a solution for bike activity where you use the watch on handelbar.

I am also a little upset by this behavior after my first spring ride with the new Vertical 2 ☹️ Special display/map setting for bike would definitely be very beneficial.

@matus69 Vertical 2 will be much worse, and it’s not just about AOD, but also about rain. In the Vertical 2, you can’t currently disable the touchscreen on the map screen. Good luck using the watch with the map if there are even a few drops of water on the screen.

this will also change with the next FW update. Then you will be able to fully disable touch for Vertical 2
