OHR turns off without warning and won't restart
-
Using firmware 2.44.46, w/ 24/7 HR measurement turned on.
- Often during the day, when not in activity mode (normal use, i.e. not using any functions, just going about my day with the watch on my wrist) the OHR will stop measuring and won’t restart. A symptom is a long gap of no HR measurement data. This happens frequently, like every day.
- To restart measurement, I have to raise the watch off my wrist several times (I see the green LED flashing), and eventually measurements will continue.
Otherwise, OHR measurement seems reasonably accurate.
I’m unsure where to post to offer help or bug report, since I don’t know if this by design or not. Sometimes it’s unclear with this vendor. Seems like a bug, but who knows.

@cdfreet I think this is known and Suunto is on it.

@cosme.costa Fingers crossed, thanks.

This is not a Vertical 2, is it?

@2b2bff, my apologies. Somehow I made a mistake. Yes, the watch is a Vertical 2, but the correct current firmware is 2.46.12. Good catch, and thanks for challenging my mistake.

I have the same problem. I can’t stand this behavior anymore — I’ve had the watch since October 1st, and every day I have to deal with resets and sensor shutdowns, especially at night when it should be monitoring HRV and sleep.
I’m sending it in for service on Saturday. Since the issue seems limited to a few Vertical 2 units, I hope they’ll replace it.
The battery performance also isn’t great: with one hour of training per day, battery life doesn’t last more than a week.
