Suunto Vertical 2 General Discussion
-
@Jan-Suchánek Same as R2, and I think R1 as well. What is a pity is that I cannot enable touchscreen during an activity (only map screen works). I never understood why it got disabled.
-
@sorinus yes, they are all compatible.
-
@OutdoorMan No, only Vertical 2. Just checked that now. They have copied that from V1 imho.
-
@Jan-Suchánek with same as R1 and R2 I ment that none of them has customer mode. Agree on copy & paste.

Ok so… I put aside my love of mip, and I just order a vertical 2… I m weak
Does someone know how many days we have with AOD (not in activities) my typical week is 8-9h of gps activities I use OHR and sleep and I keep the watch always on my wirst
I plan to charge it during shower but I’m curious of how many days I could expect between charges with this configuration
Reply hoping in the future suunto will use the new screen refresh rate to allow complication while in AOD -
@Josaiplu I don’t have a number, daily battery life is good, you should be able to get a week out of it, depending on the amount of outdoor exercises
-
Just ordered mine
-
@isazi thanks for the reply I usually train for 7-8h gps per week. Hope I could get a bit more than 7 days we’ll see
-
I think watches are no longer produced in Finland. Vertical 2 also says China.
-
@safari I still hope for custom shop made in Finland like it is for vertical, S9pp, race and races
-
@safari Even my Vertical 1 is from China. All those watches coming with this newer flat boxes are from there.
-
@runomatic My vertical 1 is Finland. Yes, mine was a square box.

@VoiGAS
Race2 as option? Why, it is plastic vesion of Race 1. But not “realy” lighter, it is less 5gr than Race1 but with plastic body and plastic lugs instead of metallic.
While Race 1 is a new vertical 2, with central button instead of digital crown.
If you are thinking about Race2, my black titsnium is on sale -25%, new never used, just tried
PLZ chat me and good deal would be done -
@Frederick-Rochette
I am in solidarity with you.
Race2 is even worth upgrade. It is new sensation for me, of an downgrade to older while aquired new model. Lucky owners of vertical 2 like you at least got “new” display and additional torch, when Race2 owners, like me, prefered digital crown, got laggy digital crown, darker display, plastic body with laggy firmare designed not for Race but for vertical 2 with touch and buttons control, but superslow for the superfast digital crown. Suunto race 1 is much precise and faster while use digital crown.
Suunto Race team spend 2 years of correcting bugs and had no time to work on the new features. finally launched new feature with race 2. Loved, suuntoplus Stopwatch, but it is continues laggy, fail to work properly in Race1 and also doesn’t work properly even pre-installed in the Race2. Simply autodisable in traning mode. Requires stop the exercise, than enter into menu and enable stopwatch again in suunto plus, works couple sessions than autodisable again and again -
@tas2581 I meant compared to Vertical 2 the Race 2 could be the better choice if you want a light watch for sports for a lower price.
Sounds like a good deal, but my Race S is even lighter- and cheaper. So none of the two are for me.
I agree on your comments on build quality. Suunto was always heavy, but buildt like a tank. The newer the watch, the closer it comes to Garmin plastic feeling -
@JonasLarsson here you are, SV2 in Titanium Sage version:
Don’t hesitate to ask if you want specific picture -
@v.sacre nice
Same design as mine (and I think the best color!)
