Suunto 9 Peak Pro 2.44.48 Beta Test

Hi, noted a unusual behavior in this version compared to the stable one, when turning off an alarm, possible after you snoozed, there is a 2-3 sec lag where the screen freezes, after that the watch is back to normal.
Seems like it is gathering data to update the “sleep” tracking info screen that it shows shortly after that.
I found now 2.weeks in that the battery drain is a bit higher than usuall, not sure why, but otherwise everything is still fine, but things mentioned above do still happen.

@pavel.samokha Can you give us a short information when this new beta will be available? It’s hard to live with this half-baked version…
-
@jschmidt I don’t have any estimates.
I can provide a link to downgrade to the previous FW if you have issues -
@pavel.samokha Thanks. This would be a great option! Can you give me a rollback to 2.40 because with that version Stryd was working without issues.

I understand that the 9PP will skip this firmware release after reading @pavel.samokha above “this firmware version won’t be released to all users”. I feel a bit sad, it’s a bad omen that the 9PP did lost the pace with updates compared with its siblings the Vertical & Races, but on the other hand this beta test is a nice idea, and if it doesn’t work to the standard it’s the right exercise of responsibility to NOT release the firmware to mainstream.

@jschmidt https://firmware.sports-tracker.com/beta/2.44.48 now has downgrade links

@isazi can you check if the bugs I reported are known please?
- Continuous pulse vibration when navigating (not in activity) on a route at 50m zoom level
I’ve got something similar but during activities; the watch vibrate continuously when zoom at 50m.
-
Given I have an update available for 2.44.52, I assume this is an automatic upgrade to the previous non beta version? Or some bug fix given that the Race S also has it apparently.

Yep I’ve noticed that too…

@pavel.samokha Thank you very much! This was very helpful. After downgrading to 2.40 the App now offers an update 2.44.52. Is this the next Beta or a stable version?
-
@jschmidt it’s in the official release channel, so stable I suppose?
-
@Łukasz-Szmigiel Maybe… The Beta was 2.44.48. The Update is 2.44.52. Just 4 Points in difference for such a big amount of failure. Seems a bit questionable to me.
-
Amount of things changed and the increment number is usually in no relations to reach other. The increment is just based off the amount of builds you had to do to get there, and fault searching in-between
-
For bike sensors which have two ble protocols the Vertical and now after the update of the 9PP both watches are useless. The Fazua bike sensor broadcasts CPS (power and cadence) AND CSCS (speed and cadence). Only CSCS is picked up by the watches and the sensor is paired as speed sensor, not as power sensor.
Because there is no possibility to choose the CPS protocol the power data are unavailable from now on.
It’s frustrating, very frustrating.

Read the Update 2.44.52 thread. Same bugs are still there!!!
-
2.44.52…And the touchscreen on the navigation screen hasn’t worked for almost a year. I really don’t understand why they haven’t fixed this bug yet.
-
9pp of my wife’s got uptated. But rep counter and 5sec countdown bip to next step are not there with this update, with structured workouts. Too bad for now.
-
@Tieutieu I can confirm I don’t have those either
-
I did a walking activity today that is not uploading even though the watch seems to be syncing fine. It’s saved on the watch logbook. Never happened before this latest update (2.44.52). A running activity from yesterday synced fine.
-
@Francesco-Pagano This is very weird. No idea why it happened.
After installing the latest hot fix on my 9PP the watch syncs very well and kind of faster that prior to the hot fix.
