Laps in Suunto Apps

Hello,
I’m having trouble understanding the laps shown in Suunto Apps.
In some activities, I see laps even though I didn’t mark any. In another case, I manually marked 2 laps, but the app shows 39 laps.Could you please explain why this happens, and how I can view only the laps I manually marked?
