@Kenneth-De-Cocker Happened to me a bunch of times, too. It would be awesome if it at least could continoue the activity automatically after a crash.

@mabe2k This indeed … I would love to be able to have this
I’m going to the mullerthal region next weekend I would hate for this to happen. Also I’m running the Great Escape (100km) next month and i’m already dreading that the watch is going to crash mid race

How long owning Race? I had 2 years Vertical, now like 3 month Race, my longest run was 4h and never crashed on any of these devices. I don’t want to say ,for me it’s working" but just maybe it’s not software but faulty watch? How long You have it and when it started to crash? I know there is a problem because few people already reported that

I own my Race for a bit less that a year and a half now. I have experienced many crashes (sometimes several during a single run) since the end of may/start of June. So the problem occured with different firmware versions.
I only experienced crashes when I had navigation on (breadcrumbs or following itinerary).
I contacted Suunto support, they are investigating…

Out of curiosity, what screen did this happen to you on? I’ve had several such restarts, always on the map screen.

@Tami999 have my Race for about 15 months. Had about 5 crashes. One was during a halfmarathon this February, at about 9 km.
Luckily I recognized it after half a kilometer. But now I have a splitted activity, which I cannot compare with next years race. And during the race - because I did not know when it happend - I was struggeling with my aproximately finishing time.

@mabe2k that is way too many crashes for 15months.
On the pount thatvyou have splitted activity - just download two fit files and merge it using one of the tools on the internet. You have missing few hundred meters, but you also have clear timestamps so it will fill your few hundred meters using time that passed.

@Tami999 I have my Race for almost 1y and 5 months or so and had like 5 or 7 crashes that I remember…
Mostly it was when using the map screen but last time I wasn’t using a map it was just de default running screen…
Don’t really remember when it started … but it’s really strange. I’ve recorded trainings for as long as 12h without any issue using a map … perhaps I should just roll back to the firmware I was using in august 2024

@Kenneth-De-Cocker I don’t know if older software will help because it happened to me on different software versions.

Besides software problems, you might have an hardware one which is happening in rare situations and causing the crash (es).
You should maybe contact support while your watch is still under warranty.

I contacted support they also said to return it, just a small problem I have a big trainings weekend coming up and also I participating in a race half September. They said if I send the watch it could take up to 14 business days … so yeah not ideal for the moment so perhaps I’ll send it off after that race. Also gonna take zero risk on race day and use a second watch an old polar but it has no gpx function which is mandatory for the race so yeah better hope is stays alive during that 100km.
