Turn-by-Turn Navigation After Latest Update – Suunto 9 Peak Pro
-
Hi everybody,
I’m using my Suunto 9 Peak Pro for both cycling and running. Unfortunately, the turn-by-turn route navigation has become almost unusable since the latest update. I’d like to explain:
Previously, I received a clear and prominent navigation notification (a large arrow) several hundred meters before a turn. I believe there was even a reminder shortly before the actual turn. This system worked very well and was easy to follow.
Since the update, the watch only notifies me around 20 meters before the turn, which is far too short to react in time and stay on my planned route. Additionally, the previously large and easy-to-read arrow has been replaced with a small icon at the bottom of the screen, which is hard to notice while in motion.
This change has significantly reduced the usability of the navigation feature, and it’s quite frustrating.
Here are my suggestions to improve turn-by-turn navigation:
Provide earlier notifications before a turn
Adjust the distance of the notifications based on the activity or average speed (e.g., 100 m for running, 300 m for cycling)
Improve the visibility of the navigation arrows (larger and more central on the screen)
Implementing these improvements would make the turn-by-turn navigation useful again and greatly enhance the user experience during activities.
Best regards,

@shortfinal18R this had already changed with the firmware before. And it has been discussed already in full length.
