    Suunto race hangs durring Soft-Reset in Boot Screen

      Hi all

      On the 22.05.2025 weeks ago I purchased an Suunto Race which is a great device but not I have a serious issue. Here is what happend:

      • I went on a plane and did switch the flymode on (17.06.2025)
      • after landing I wanted to switch it off again but I wtach did not respond anymore
      • I tried the soft-reset (12s pressing to top-right button) until the watch vibrates …
      • … but than it gets stuck in the boot screen --> see screenshot

      I tried this with the charging cable attched a few times but no luck. A hard reset is not possible since I cannot reach the respective menu obviously.

      Maybe notworthy, the watch did an update the day before but seemed to work normally afterwards until it frooze and did not respond anymore.

      I really need the devive working again very soon since I rely on it for my planned trips. Any ideas what to do now?

        @doorpost651 Hi, I have a similar issue, the day after this update the watch got stuck at the beginning of the service mode. the display shows the black and white “press 12 seconds” + “service mode” screen, but if I keep pressing the button, nothing happens. Sometimes a green screen comes up and the watch says, that it is now working on resolving the issues, but then the black and white screen comes back. This is happening until the battery is empty. I have recharged the watch once it was completely switched off, but the same started again.

        I sent this problem via email to suunto last Wednesday - but no response. I sent today at 6:00 AM CET (i.e. 12 hours ago), but no reply.

        The hillarious thing is, that suunto got rid of the website / computer based updates, linking tool, and has only a phone-based app, but at the same time, it is impossible to open this community forum from my iPhone (latest Pro model), because I cannot get rid of the cookie disclaimer and it blocks the screen.

        I am truly disappointed as my watch was giving me headaches on a regular basis because of software issues. In comparison, my wife’s 2017 Apple Watch did not have any problems at all, and has a decent wrist sensor in it… I was considering the Apple Watch Ultra, but the Race was nicer, offered better battery time and tons of other advanced functions. I am a suunto user since 2012, and I can only hope, that the company focuses more on quality control, as the current state is not satisfying.
        I switched back now to my Suunto Ambit 3 Peak, but I am more than frustrated that I cannot use the HRV functions, etc.

            @isazi thanks, I did that and now I have a DHL label. I was hoping to get some support with a workaround to avoid the need of returning the watch

              @Zoltan-Dobai FYI for those concerned: the chat function via the app works well, I received instructions how to send in the watch and got it replaced in 3 working days. The device was unfortunately broken.
