Movescount can now connect to suunto app
-
I lost it too
-
Remote control
-
Our dev ops detected the spike in the connections and changed the config.
Did someone talk about feature switches?
-
@Dimitrios-Kanellopoulos It seems that I have paid premium account, since Movescount import to SA, is still there in my phone
-
@Dimitrios-Kanellopoulos
Does you mean that it is normal now, not to have Movescount connection option ?
Or is it still Ă âbugâ that some has it And others not ?
Btw, thanks for this version, it seems like the Best since ages.
Nothing perfect, but many new things, to test, tobdiscuss -
The Movescount history import has always been there since I think 2016.
However it is not shown, working okish up to some days ago. The plan is to come in Spring 2019 were we all will be fine todo so.However, here and in some other places you will have access way faster than that Spring 2019 that all should get it.
Today we had a little issue, the app released pointed to retrieve a testers config, while it shouldnât and this is shut down from the backend this time.

The connection was in test for a short while, but there is/was a speed issue in one of the APIâs used for transferring the data between the backends. This new channel that can import all valuable data (not the limited ST connection) has been behind the global switch for few months, not quite since 2016 . This 3.53.0 was supposed to turn it on for only China version, not for the global one. sneak peak about it here, but had to be turned off since there is still few things to be finetuned before it can be launched to all. Anyway a good example how we can turn on âthird partyâ connections without actually updating the application. It may be that you can expect a lot of 3rd party connections next year. This said, it may be that we do actually need some updates also to the app to make this really possible.

Just 3 points to let users âliveâ and give you -Suunto devs- a better life:
1- Import MC history would be associated to âuploadâ new workouts to MC (like with Strava)
2- Filtered notifications is a must, I canât live with all or nothing.
3- It would be great to could edit workouts (description, pictures, dataâŚ) before syncing to external services, so autosync in the background must be a choice switch, some of us prefer forced syncs to do them after that work.
Iâm pretty sure those 3 changes would be a borderline in terms of users needs. -
@Jouko-from-Suunto Itâs interesting to know that the function is turned on for China version. But question is: where can I download the China version of 3.53.0? I am from China but currently using Google play to download the App. It looks not China version because I cannot see the function of âimport history from MCâ.
-
@wangjay1029 @Jouko-from-Suunto can you help here ?

Probably there is not a âchina app versionâ. It must be related to your IP address, maybe if youâre navigating through an occidental VPN, it changes your IP, so there is no import history option. Try to do it with a truly chinese IP address. -
@ColdBeer I tried but still the same. Maybe I need to register another account? I am using my facebook account to login now.
-
@wangjay1029 its app version specific. Please hold on Iâll pm you
-
@wangjay1029 unfortunately You canât at the moment, we do not have beta for China. We have just some manual testing done in China by a partner for all of the apps. It will be on the release version âsoonâish.â.
We have China and ârest of the worldâ aka global version of the app. This is due China regulations and need to have the backend handled by those regulations. Also some feature differences on services like no Facebook login offered in china app and so on.

Hi,
One question regarding this particular connection between SA<âMC : do all valuable data include tags, description and photos of each moves ?I am not that proud of my data, but it is part of our life in Movescount. Many activities, and memories âŚ
-
It is not yet my time.
I tried to accept the limitations imposed by the use of route creation, but I can not update movescount itâs not a compromise I want to accept.
The app is well done, mapbox has made usable maps, gpx import is OK, and the personalization of sports activities works well, but the limits are still too many, including the already known problems with which strava âtranslatesâ the activities loaded by suunto app.
I will remain a hybrid for a while -

I will remain a hybrid for a whileWhat does Strava change on data from SA that it doesnât from Movescount? With either you will get recalculated âmovingâ time as well as Stravas own take on your elevation profileâŚ

one above all: swimming. First the strava charts made sense, now not anymore.
Even losing the interval data in the transition to Suunto App is quite annoying. In any case, even if only I had an âimport activityâ of movescount (function that was in test over a year ago, but never landed on movescount web), I could make do so for the moment, but I can not live with the cannot update movescount ⌠thereâs all my sport life in there.
