Race Update 2.39.44 sleep Tracking Not working
-
@Fermizante I can‘t really say what‘s going wrong with your Race, but you can maybe try the following:
-
watch should be worn tight, about 2 cm above the wrist bone
-
check if watch works better on other wrist
-
I am not sure if I remember this right, but I think on the S5 or S9 series I had those not correctly track sleep start and end times, when I changed the Resting HR in the Personal settings to a too high or low value.I set it now to about 10 beats above my nightly resting HR. You may be try, if changing those makes any difference

@ChrisA I tried that but with the same result sometimes I got some tracking most of the time it’s not recording or records just some hours.
I tried to adjust position, changed wrist, changed heart rate…
I even removed the hair under the watch to see if it’s getting better.
I think it’s just not really working at the moment maybe they fix it in the further we will see.
Best would be the option to start sleep Tracking manually Or to help the watch by defining the normal sleep hours/ sleep routines -
@Fermizante weird! Especially that there is no sleep at all!? I have no idea what’s s wrong. Have you tried wearing it on the inside of your wrist? Not that this is a good solution, but maybe it helps? For me it helped recently in a strength training where there was no HR tracked on the outside, but as soon as I moved the watch to the inside HR tracking started
For me sleep works nicely on both wrists (normal outside position)

I downgraded to 2.37.48 using the downgrade instructions https://forum.suunto.com/post/159509 (“You go to Control Panel > Settings > General > About > go all way down and hold few seconds down button > secret menu pops up and you can select ‘Select OTA pkg’ I had three versions on my watch. Good luck!”)
Have you tried using the “Button lock” shortcut? That coupled with General > Display > Raise to wake: Display only should keep the watch more usable in wet settings.
-
@Jussi-Vaihia hi yes I use the lock button for it. That’s the only thing that works but if you want to use timer functions in wet surface like in the pool it’s not working because I can not lock and use the watch.
For me personally I don’t need the touch. -
My sleep tracking tracking has issues since teh last update- it correlates with a HR not working, which is a random but frequent enough (1 or 2 x a week) problem. If I re-boot the watch, all is well for a while. For example last night no sleep tracked - and no HR available. then restart, and my nap is tracked just fine- something lies deep with in the code of the last update, perhaps?
-
@VaineRT l also think it is a bug. My Hr tracking is not working all the time
I think my settings are correct but nearly nothing gets tracked…
This week just two days are partly tracked.
I have no idea what’s wrong.
Tried to change Hr value, disabled the not disturbs mode, removed my hands hairs in watch area, switched to the other hand…
But nothing worked.

@Fermizante I can’t remember the thread and the user name but he made the experience that wearing the watch on the other arm solved his problem with sleep tracking. Perhaps something you could try?
I saw too late that you already tried this…

@Fermizante I haven’t had any problems for several weeks, but now in 4 days I have 2 nights that haven’t been counted. I simply restarted it, I hope the next update will resolve this issue.
-
I guess they fixed it. After the last update it worked fine for already four days in a row.
Thank suunto for the update. -
@Fermizante You are lucky because I am in the opposite situation. Sleep tracking was working good with the previous firmware and now with the last, no sleep tracking since 3 days and all actions done to correct the situation are not successful.
