I really dislike trivial bugs as second hand bug in new 2.40 firmware...
-
I already replied to other users post - but this is just to stress how disappointed I am in your SW quality control… really - bug with second hand in watch face!!! that was not there before!
Everything worked well in 2.39 FW.
As a new user coming from Garmin I am so disappointed that you are starting to make the same mistakes - or are you planning obsolescence of Suunto Race by forcing users to endless updates…
Please give us full online repository of previous software versions so that we can roll back
-
@leonidas Keep calm and rollback - if you like - as discribed here in this post from kaje_tan

@leonidas Hey, at first I wasn’t really getting your point, but then you changed the font to capitals and at the end, the great final blow the bold.
Now I completely agree with you and your frustration, and I’m sure that Suunto as company will too! I really hope that more people would use as effective way of communication as you.
Have a great weekend, may all your future texts be as civil and proper as the above.

This is working in case you are upgrading from previous FW and have not deleted repository of firmwares on your watch.
I am aware of developer menu and access to prev firmware if its already on the watchI am with two Suunto Race Titanium ordered from Amazon. First one has 2.39 and works excellent.
Second ordered with current end-March sales with 20% discount and that arrived with 2.33.
Asked Amazon - hey can you just accept unpacked second one and give me the price diff of 60eur - as I feel bad for opening second product just to return the first one. They were strong - nope - pack and return the first one.
OK - 60eur is 60eur.I update 2.33 on the second Race and bump - it goes to 2.40…
Thinkging all fine…
And then my only watch face Simple Analog - has a bug!!!So I need access to the prev firmware which is NOT in my OTA folder on my watch…

Nice… thanks Pis…

“You” who ?
You (you) know this is a community forum and not Suunto HO email, do you ?
Here we are (almost) all final users. And please, avoid CAPS LOCK as it’s inappropriate here.

@leonidas We try to be a respectful and helpful group here. If you prefer Garmin no one is stopping you from returning. Otherwise, perhaps you can tone down the posts. Second, since you clearly are an expert you know this is a bug! Kudos! It might be as intended whether you like it or not. Asking might get you answers more quickly.

Thanks, Brad - adjusted the tone (rewrote capital letters) - my first reaction was furious as I started seeing the same things that Garmin is doing - and by all means I dont want to get back… neither I want to be be trapped with the product with volatile UX… my comment on QC stays…
Most importantly - I found the solution for sideloading the older firmware to the Race and flashing it - no posts here contained how to do it - private message of one of the members contained full instructions…
I am a bit surprised why these things are not public on this forum…
-
@leonidas I still don’t know what the bug is.

Now you can make it public.

From my understanding, initial complaint is :

It is totally unacceptable!

Well, I can completely understand the frustration. Given the high prices and the very long periods between updates, consumers want more quality. That’s not something we like to hear here in the forum. So that there are no misunderstandings. I’m grateful that there are testers here who offer their help. Nevertheless, it’s a shame that I even have to seek this help. Mistakes happen, that’s for sure… But it’s also understandable that users aren’t always enthusiastic about an update if it doesn’t live up to expectations. This kind of feedback is uncomfortable, but it’s much more valuable than expressing everything positively and becoming grateful just because there has been some development after 3-4 months.

I still have the question, what is the bug? The second hand seems to be working on my simple analog watch face. Why I asked.
Ok, found it the second hand is white and not colored. Someone stated this is a bug. I am not so sure of that. I will try to check but assuming this is a bug could be incorrect.
-
@Brad_Olwin for me all hands stay white.
Or are we talking about a different watch face?
Simplicity Analog?
-
@Egika That is the one. Not sure the color change is a bug. A lot of other complications have lost color changes as well.
