SR Battery drain
-
@Mff73 sure that’s fine, the pattern I can spot on my SR is something is going wrong from Sunday to Monday, that’s when it decreases the most in my case. ( 21%)
-
@herlas Like all of us it seems to hate Mondays Interesting observation though.
-
@EzioAuditore yeah, my finding is based on my ICU chart for battery consumption per activity, you can see Baterry level when activity ended on Sunday (75) and battery level starting the next activity on Monday (54).
-
Same here, battery consumption on my SR increased about 30 %. From up to 18 days in daily usage to about 12 days.
As much as I like the watchface options of the upgrade, all in all it’s a huge downgrade for me, as the overwhelming battery life was the thing I liked the most about the watch. -
After I left my Race unused, and also not synced, for some days I noted that it was discharging faster than before (usually about 2% per day). I turned it off and on again, synced, and now it seems to have recovered it’s normal battery consumption.
Maybe the firmware of this smartwatches have been optimised assuming they would be always connected to a smartphone… -
@Tomika My SR battery consumption has worsened a lot since the last upgrade. We’re talking about more than 10% a day without any activity and with always on display off.
I’m out of the news loop since months so I came here to ask you if the problem is known to Suunto and if there is a fix on the way for it.
Thanks. -
@General_Witt
facebook:- PLace the watch on the charger and press and hold the upper button for 60sec to reboot the watch.
2.After reboot do an ordinary soft reset by pressing the upper button for 12sec(watch not on the charger)
- PLace the watch on the charger and press and hold the upper button for 60sec to reboot the watch.

Thanks. As you can read in other threads in the next update (seems it will be soonish) it will be solved. The problem seems general for the SR and SV

Good ol’ suunto! Just want to share my experience, previous months I usually charged once in 4 weeks. Of course, with such consumption it’s impossible.
-
@false Did you update the watch? With the last version there should be some improvements. I have 7-10% daily on the Race S, so the Race should have less
-
@VoiGAS I did nothing, this drainage came out of nowhere. On Sunday I had a run with with turned on navigation and then, got - 8-10% till Monday and - 20% from Monday to Wednesday. After Wednesday’s training I rebooted my watch, so will see the result of this tomorrow, on Friday. I bet the watch continued to navigate on the background. As I wrote previously I used to charge it once in 4 weeks, moreover it wasn’t my first run with route navigation, so I’m curious what’s wrong.
Regarding installation of the latest software release, since the last November I’m always scare to install (at least in the first 1-2 months after rolling out) any new update from suunto, because now it’s always about fixing one thing (or not even fixing) and breaking another. So, if rebooting works as workaround in my case, I can live with it because I use routing rarely, but if not, maybe I’ll install new fw, however, who knows what new bugs it has. Relevant topic says that users still struggle with battery issues

Back to normal 1 - 2% a day (I don’t use my watch between training sessions)
