Sensors not reconnecting after pausing
-
Firmware: 2.37.34
Sport mode: Cycling, commute
Sensors: bike pod, power pod, external HR (wrist HR disabled)
Autopause: enabledDescription: I rode my bike while running errands today, pausing when I locked it outside a shop. After the second pause, about 20m, I returned to my bike and resumed my ride.
Expected outcome: watch reconnects to the sensors as previously
Actual outcome: watch does not reconnect to any sensor, including external HR, which it stayed with in 1m of.The batteries of the three pods are nominal, and given that the watch didn’t connect to all three, I’d put this as a firmware bug and not a problem with the pods.
NB: no SuuntoPlus functionality used, this is different to my bug report of S+ sensors disconnecting, and requiring a new activity.
Logs uploaded ~1935 UTC.
Screenshot below shows power and HR data stopping, as speed continues (presumably from GNSS).
wee bump for @isazi

I have had the same problem with the same activity (MTB) with Suunto Vertical. I hope in the solution because it’s unfriendly…
-
@matteo_000 which firmware version(s) has it happened on? I’m curious if it’s a new problem with 2.37.34, or a pre-existing problem that we’re waiting for a fix on.
-
@Ze-Stuart pretty busy lately, not really looking at the forum much, but I’ll forward this
-
@isazi thanks! I had surgery on Monday, so no exercising for 3 weeks: probably no more bug reports from me for that long…
I told support about it, too, ticket 7469640.

@Ze-Stuart get well soon!
-
@isazi thanks!

@Ze-Stuart I see the same issue
I wondered why my HR became erratic and if I look at ZoneSense it disconnected after just over an hour and did not reconnect!
Struggling to post a screenshot here, this may work
-
@Ze-Stuart i went in and checked one of my rides that was 2 hours and Zonesense was on (only S+ running at the time).
It looks like it did not drop off like yours did.
*The heart rate belt i had on hand to test with was a Coospo H808S with my Vertical and activity was mountain biking
-
@cumbrian-runner does the HR stre drop off at the same time, too? Trying to differentiate between loss of HRV data, and loss of all external HR data.

@Todd-Danielczyk said in Sensors not reconnecting after pausing:

Nope, looks like you maintained connectivity the whole time.
-
@Ze-Stuart Well it would have defaulted to wrist HR at that point of the disconnect.
As far as I know its impossible for a Polar H10 to present HR data but with no R-R interval data.
-
@cumbrian-runner does it switch to wrist in the event of loss of external? I don’t know (or perhaps, trust) that.
Agree with the paradigm, but again a lack of trust of the system the paradigm inhabits.
You should be able to copy/paste screenshots straight into the compose box.
-
@Ze-Stuart it does not switch to OHR if connection to external monitor is lost
-
@Ze-Stuart I have SV with the last version 2.37.34. I remeber that I have had the same problem with the version before.

@matteo_000 thanks!
