@JVMT74 ok, thought there where new watches. Think by beginning of 2025 will new hardware come.
-
@JVMT74 Suunto had a questionnaire awhile back in the app that asked whether users would be interested in a live tracking feature. It wasn’t the main focus of the questionnaire — it asked about other features users might want as well — but it shows they are at least thinking about it.
I hope they’re working on it. Livetrack is one of the reasons I’m still holding on to a Garmin.

Thank you very much for your feedback

There is a Suunto+ app being developed at the moment
-
@duffman19 what is the meaning of live track? That others can see where you are?
-
@Sportsfreund I think therefor you need a broadcast function (like simcard) inside the watch isn’t it?
-
@Sportsfreund No, it could also work with the connected phone. At Ultra Trails carrying a phone is mandatory, so this wouldn’t be a big issues for this use case and it is what Garmin does.
Livetracking on the phone alone doesn’t work well as the phones GPS tracking is far inferior to the watches. At least mine (Samsung S24) is nearly unusable for it, especially in the backpack -

Thank you. We have been talking about it since 2017 and there is still nothing.

@JVMT74 things don’t come to live from just time passing.
Product management will always prioritize. This can lead to things not coming at all, even if the idea has been there for ages.
