MTB Downhill Modus
-
Hi everyone, I want to record my laps in the bike park with the 9PP. Does anyone have any experience with this? When skiing, the lift ride is deducted. Does this also apply to cycling or do I have to use skiing for this? I only want to record downhill.
Thanks -
@Kaiphi not sure, but please report back what you find
-
After asking three people at Suunto and not getting a proper answer, I have now tested it myself. The watch does not recognise the difference between the gondola and the distance and altitude you have ridden yourself. You can only go by the depth, the others are falsified. I have tested cycling once and mountain biking once. Both are the same. If anyone knows a trick, please let me know.

@Kaiphi I can open a feature request to have this mode implemented. It is just a request, I cannot tell you if anyone at Suunto will like it or not.
-
@Kaiphi while you wait for a fix on the MTB mode, can’t you just record your activities as ski or snowboard and change it in the app later?

Thanks for your tip. Unfortunately, that doesn’t work. If the ski trip is changed, the distance traveled and the altitude also change.

i just pause my watch on the uplift
-
I use this mode constantly and works. You get downhill distance laps etc. But the total distance still counts.
-
@Dimitrios-Kanellopoulos Which mode do you use?
-
@Kaiphi
I was also hoping to find for this Downhill MTB mode. Since not finding such I tried to make a custon sportsmode for this by imitating the snowboarding mode and choosing the same data fields like max lap speed, distance and total downhill distance.You can make autolaps by using the Loop-feature (SuuntoPlus). Of course it does not work the same way as the snowboarding/skiing mode but you can count laps automatically. Thoug it works only if there is one lift that you always use. Just start the excercise at/near the lift station.

@Jounaz89
Thank you for your tip. I will try it next time. But I think the variant from @minimark069 is best if you use many different lifts during the day. -
I use pause. It works fine. If you don’t forget to press pause or resume
-
@Kaiphi
With that Loop-feature you can also start New Lap manually by pressing the lower button. Then it makes new lap again automatically when reaching that new point again. So start lap manually if taking a different lift back up -
Hi all -> Mountainbiking -> downhill its there
-
@Dimitrios-Kanellopoulos That sounds like great news. Do you have any more information? When I compare the cycling and mountain biking sport modes, I don’t see any difference.

Ah, ok. I thought you were already using the MTB Downhill profile?!?
Actually there are three MTB profiles to choose from: Trail, Enduro and Downhill.
Which one were you using? -
For trail profile, i never see lap after downhill.
Perhaps, it will great if Suunto add this feature for all MTB profile.
-
@Mi_chael use the downhill profile ?
