EON Core display colour
-
Hi all
I recently bought an EON core dive computer but have a weird issue, I wondered if anyone else had the same or could offer some advice please?
I love the unit and all the features it offers, but, in the water beyond about 3 meters instead of the vibrant colours I see at the surface the numerals appear to be red or a browney orange making it hard to read. Suunto swapped the unit for a new one but this is the same. Weirdly if I shine a torch at the display everything seems to appear as it should. I have tried on the different brightness settings which makes no difference.
I have taken 2 colour blindness tests in my quest for an answer, everything is normal so I’m a bit stumped.
Any advice or tips greatfully accepted.

@IainO back when I was still scuba diving (had to quit because of epilepsy) we were taught that the sunlight (or any light from above the surface) starts to lose certain wavelengths when you go deeper. The red goes out first. It’s just basic physics. Even the red fish start looking weird brownish. Just like you mentioned; bringing your own light with you will make your EON and all the fish shine again. Suunto support should definitely know this!!!
