I just got my Race and was just looking through the manual and noticed that it stated that you shouldnt get bug spay on it. I just wanted to get others input if they have any issues with this? I am outdoors a lot and bug spary is a must and if this is the case this might not be the watch for me. Any input is appreciated.

@Bishop82 Bug spray that contains DEET is especially nasty towards plastics as it is in the toluene family.
Easiest way to damage any synthetic polymer gear is to spray DEET on it as it will cause it to melt/sag. Best to avoid it at all cost.

@Bishop82
As a note, please use meaningful titles for the discussion.
“Outdoor Adventures” doesn’t mean anything and for sure doesn’t summarize your request.DEET almost melted some plastic stuff I sweated on while doing some wilderness trek

@sartoric I lost some gear, a rain jacket and a car door interior to DEET.
I strictly use stuff with permethrin now if I need to as it is much safer (both for gear and health).

Yup, me too.
Different use scope though… and safe if you don’t have or love cats

Smidge for me. Lovely stuff.
