VO2max don't change
-
@mikel how long are your running workouts? How is your avg HR during your runs?
-
@mikel
looks like we’re getting closer to the root cause.
as @mcindr said, mtb doesn’t estimate VO2max and what @Łukasz-Szmigiel is pointing to: running isn’t equal to running.
VO2max requires a variation of HR and at best thru all zones and at least 15mins -

between 7 and 10 km (40 min to 1h) 2 times per week. Avg HR 150 to 160 bpm.
And yes, I know that VO2max is only recorded during running. Why should mountainbiking has an influence on VO2max recording during running? If so, why was it ok until the November update?

I described here the same with S9B. After every run I got the same VO2max value without any change for few months. I made factory reset and after runned more than 200 km with good GPS quality and HR belt I didn’t get new value of VO2max. My watch only still wrote run min. 15 minutes…
I tried downgrade to 2.23.20. Immediately after that got new VO2max value during first very easy run (only 6km mostly in zone 1). After every next run is this value updated. Now it function very well again. All conditions are the same as before. I am running the same tracks, the same HR belt, using custom running mode as before.
How you downgrade the firmware?
-
@GiPFELKiND you can find here in this forum. Search for firmware reposirory.

How you downgrade the firmware?
S9PP you can downgrade with this firmware:
https://firmware.geo.movescount.com/production/Sapporo-fw_2.22.60.3383-P-56f364c9.sof
On your phone open the firmware with Suunto app and the downgrade should be possible …
-
@pilleus I have downloaded Sapporo to my phone. When I open it with the Suunto App I’m getting an error message: The file is either damaged or the file format is not supported.
Is there something I’m missing? -
Okay, I think it worked in the past with the S9P. I cannot give you an advice to downgrade then … maybe it was a zip file for the S9P.

what sport
Hello,
I run 3/4 session (arroud 50 km) by week, the application indicates for some exercices “VO2max” working… but nothing change for VO2max parameter… -
during the week end I test with Heart Rate Belt and my VO2max become ok !
So I think that the new Firmware don’t take account the optical heart rate of the watch…
-
Same here on Vertical. Since 6 months now (as we know, after two firmware updates) my VO2Max doesn’t change. Any help would be appreciated.
-
@Ars-Vitae Are you using a belt or the OHR sensor of the watch? And do you get consistent readings?
I noticed that my VO2Max isn’t changing when I use the OHR in colder conditions. It turns out that I get very inaccurate readings so maybe the watch discards those sessions so it does not mess up your VO2Max.
When the weather gets warmer, the reading become spot-on and also my VO2Max is changing again. -
@surfboomerang I am using only watch sensor. However, I analyzed my progress once again and looked at the details in the application. I came to the conclusion that without clear progress (so far I’m only at the level of maintaining form) my VO2Max has no chance to improve. The summer season is approaching, so I will have the opportunity to get out of my comfort zone and prepare for some competitions, then I will check this parameter again. Thanks for your reply.

Hi! Can someone help me with where I can see my fitness level or my fitness age on the 9 peak pro? Thanks!
-
@Adamhert Progress widget and scroll down (you should have run though a couple of times to get performance info - dependant on your HR zones too).
-
@EzioAuditore thanks!
-
I am experiencing kind of strange behaviour of vo2max value. It changes but not the way I expected last Saturday I did some interval run and got 55,2. Yesterday I did another interval run and got 54,7. This is the first time ever I got decreased value after an interval training ( which was quite intense - 5.30 min x 3 with 3.45 min/km as an average pace )
-
@rooldaa perhaps your HR was higher than last time?

@BrunoH I couldn’t stop my self laughing Good one!
