Bright mode Cycling.

@Petr-Hudeček if I don’t use navigation, mine works just fine (on the bars).
-
@freeheeler But I would like to see my current speed, heartrate, elevation and all the other data just with a glance. And I definately doesn‘t want to take my hand of the handlebar.
-
@HoBart
…when cycling, right? fully on your side. the watch should show the screen and data when on the handlebar while cycling.
with mtb: plenty of time to look at the watch on the wrist uphills, definitely other priorities on the way down -
@freeheeler i had a run today and it was really sunny, finally. Anyhow what bothered me was that the raise to wake did not work at all. The watch was always in dim state and it was totally impossible to see anything on the screen. The only way to wake it up was to touch the crown which made it jump to the next screen. Which was really frustrating since I was following a training plan. So what is the expected behaviour regarding the race and running?
-
@helgonet12
it dims to save battery, but of course at wrist raise the screen should become brighter instantly.
what setup did you use?
the setup with my Race is AOD toggled on and brightness high -
@freeheeler I had AOD and brightness low.
-
@helgonet12
brightness low on a sunny day could be the reason for this issue.
please try with at least medium or high and double check the behaviour again. -
@freeheeler no I don’t think so. Because the watch was in the dim state all the time and the only time it got brighter was when touching the crown like I wrote before. The raise to wake doesn’t work. Nothing happens. It should go from dim state to brighter when raising my arm should it?
-
@helgonet12
I haven’t used brightness low much, but I’ve tried just now. the difference between the dimmed display and low seems to be little.
that’s why I was asking to double check if the behaviour is the same. -
@freeheeler ok. It is not very important since I got to try the race and it is for me to much hassle changing the settings all the time depending what you are doing. Find the display extremely nice but to bright using it indoors. And the AOD screen is just to plain with no user info and not visible on a sunny day outside. I’ll go back using my vertical. I guess I’m old fashion. Thanks for the help.

@helgonet12
I’m old fashioned, too… or let’s say: I did not yet find an advantage of the amoled technology in watches over mip technoloy, other than it looks nice and colourful…
everyone has his/her favourite and I am convinced of mip -
@freeheeler I agree. Buy the way. I remembered that it works when using in walking or cycling but not the running mode. All modes where custome modes.
