@suzzlo The Spartan with HR calculates your level, or adds calories (to keep it simple) depending on your HR and burnrate.

If you don’t track, but you have an elevated HR for various reason (eg cycling or running) the avg burnrate increases and that is taken both to recovery calc and how many calories you burn.

@suzzlo it should. However let’s wait to see it in action. Unfortunately we are overspeculating here.

@dimitrios-kanellopoulos forget swimming (with M400), think about running (without tracking) the Polar Activity measure works well. And as you have explained I can have same, with calories in Suunto. Good!

No han terminado de solucionar los problemas del spartan y ya estan sacando otro reloj. Espero que el suunto 3 no lo saquen inacabado como el spartan

@suzzlo I am using the SSU, that unit does not have OHR. That I think is our problem here. Without the unit being able to also measure HR the 3D movement things are so and so. Tested it in the past with Polar (I was 2+years user) it’s ok. Nothing biggie there.

However, regarding the SF3 I read very interesting stuff.

                      Take a look here https://the5krunner.com/2018/01/09/suunto-3-fitness-another-new-suunto-kinda/

Well, the new Fitness 3 was announced. Apparently very light and I assume some features will come to the other Spartans with future updates. Y’all might think I am crazy but I would buy this watch if and only if it would support Stryd. While I like having GPS tracks, a lightweight watch with a long battery life and pace/distance/power/elevation from Stryd would be great. I loved my T6c and had over 2000 miles on it before the Ambit came along. Unfortunately, I do not imagine Suunto will enable Stryd functionality on this watch but if they do I would seriously consider it. What do the rest of you think?

batería de larga duración ?, donde viste eso? yo no lo vi en la web

And they say, Suunto App will be starting in spring (out of beta)!

The Minimal viable feature set for Suunto 3 Fitness is ready for the launch of that product. The Suunto app Beta will continue with other devices that may be more demanding with features. The decision when Suunto app beta will end is still on table aka not done yet.

@jouko-from-suunto I understand that new product will be launched with a stable version of the Suunto App. So I presume that in spring will be a Stable version of Suunto App. I will love the option of two branches, stable app and beta app for user like us

@luís-pinto yep, looks like it. Starting with Spartan Suunto is developing the new OS. That is why we don’t have functionalities transferred 1:1 from Ambit series.
So all that we miss from Ambit is NOT on Spartan because Suunto decided to not include those functionalities - It’s because those functionalities have to be completely rebuild and adapted to new OS. At least it seems like that is the case. Long way to go but we’re gonna get there. #2018updateiscomming

@therunningdaddy This has always been my conviction. The Spartan OS was written from scratch when it was released.

                                            Yep as @TheRunningDaddy Said.
However, keep in mind that like all os/platforms they have sw and hw limitations.
You cannot fit all the stuff in all the iPhones for example and the same goes for Android etc.
