9 Years Later Logbook Empty
-
I have an ambit3 sport that I’ve been using the past 10 years or so. In the entire time I’ve owned the watch I haven’t synced it. Recently my watch would alert me that the memory was getting more filled up after each of my runs and that I needed to sync my moves.
So I did that tonight and after syncing between SuuntoLink and the Mobile App I checked my watch and the logbook is empty. I can’t see any of my previous runs on the mobile app or SuuntoLink either. Has anyone had this issue before? Is there any way to get my data back?
Thanks in advance for any help.

@captkirk First of all you should change the watch model, the Suunto 3 is not the same as an Ambit3
Suunto uses a system that when you save a new activity and the memory is full it deletes the older one, and only small summary is stored, not all the activity data.
Moreover, if you haven’t synced the watch in 10 years probably you also have had some software updates and in that case all activity memory is deleted. You probably have updated the watch before syncing the activities and all is lost.

@captkirk With all the respect 10 years without syncing is not how the watch is supposed to be used. I also think that you have lost all the workouts.

@cosme-costa thank you, I do remember now when I went to sync it that it prompted to update the software. This is good to know going forward.

@Zdeněk-Hruška I appreciate you saying that gently. In the immediate aftermath I was shocked and sad. Now I realize I should have learned more about my watch and the supporting apps. I guess also with any sort of data it’s risky to go so long without backing it up.
