Power Intensity Zone
-
Hi,
I previously used a Stryd Pod with the Suunto 9, but upgraded to the Suunto Peak Pro, partly for the convenience of having native power integrated into the watch.
The power works great, I can display a reading of power no problems during a run. But to use “Power” and the Intensity Zone during an activity, it appears I need to add a power/foot pod to unlock this. This makes sense on the Suunto 9 when power isn’t available unless you add the pod, but it kind of defeats the purpose of running without a pod on the Suunto Peak Pro.
Is there a way around this on the Suunto Peak Pro, to allow power to be chosen as an Intensity Zone without having to use the pod?
If I pair the pod so it unlocks the Intensity Zone, but then don’t use the pod, will the Intensity Zone work with the native power reading?Thanks

@Brad-Hector I have just had a look at my Vertical, as the 9PP is out of house…
When I select the basic running profile I have the options of HR, Power and Pace zones as targets.
Which sport mode are you using?
What does you intensity zones menu offer?Cheers

@Brad-Hector for sure:
- Run Basic
- Trail Running Basic/Power
- Trademill

@Egika I raised a bug about this recently. Power isn’t available as an Intensity Zone on 9PP and Race. Was hoping it would’ve been fixed on last release
-
@Steven-Limmer ok, so that’s maybe what’s different.
In my Race test FW, I do have Power Zones though. So it seems as it will change. -
@Steven-Limmer I have been requesting this feature from Suunto for quite some time. I hope that it will be enabled as it seems needed.

@Brad_Olwin I could really do with this as a feature. 9PP defaults to Power in TSS, and I’d like to use it as a more accurate gauge of effort when running (as opposed to Pace, which can fluctuate if GPS drifts).
How can we get some urgency around this?

@Steven-Limmer As with all new features it is tested. The release timing is up to Suunto and what other features may accompany it.
