Race and Polar Vantage M Different Durations
-
Hi community,
I ran my home course with my new Suunto Race for the first time today.
The new Suunto on the left and the old Polar Vantage M on the right.
The movement times for the watches:
Race 1:12:08 > https://maps.suunto.com/move/vilmosvarszegi/655db00f7ea829210a5a3f77
Polar 1:10:09 > https://flow.polar.com/shared/7e7bb30b3abc6e27cc71ad76e3cedc88How can this difference in the Durations explained? I started at the same time and even stopped the activity at the end on the Suunto Race first.
Both watches have “Auto Pause” on.
Thank you very much for your tips.

The reason may be the different kind of interpreting “Auto Pause” on the two watches. If it is related to GPS speed only or if it is related to GPS speed and movement of the arms.

@laufbursche7 Suunto Auto-Pause was/is a 1.6kph threshold from memory - not sure for Polar but as said may differ

@The_77 Suunto: Autopause pauses the recording of your exercise when your speed is less than 2 km/h (1.2 mph). When your speed increases to more than 3 km/h (1.9 mph), the recording continues automatically.
