@alfredzhong I pre-ordered the 9PP October 2022 and it’s been a great partner, I’ve worn in practically 24/7 all this time. I have certainly noticed a sharp drop in battery life (given how often I have to charge it) since the new update and I am aware other forum users echo that too. Maybe something happened to my watch, I can’t say. 🤷 I’ve already tried the resets and “calibration” that you shared. 😞

So I’m hoping this will be dealt with in a future firmware update if this is a widespread issue. I hope for you that maybe something is wrong with my watch and that yours will work well after you follow those steps.

@Umer-Javed Thank you for sharing. Hoping it’s just a firmware issue and will be resolved.

@alfredzhong Already read and it’s something I do with my gears but I think it’s not my case, I don’t see any “strange” drops… and anyway charge it every 10 or so days it’s not a big deal. Hope anyway the issue, if any, has been addressed by devs.

@Umer-Javed I also observe reduced battery life on mine as well. I charge it every 7-8 days. Not on my wrist during sleep. For example, I recharged it last week on Tuesday to 100%. Last night it had 12% left and put it on the charger. Prior to last sw update the battery was much better with the same activities and used to be on my wrist 24/7.

My first suunto watch is Ambit 3 Peak

Nice watch, I read a lot of praise for it and was going to buy it – but I chose the 9PP.

On the last FW they added continuous HR monitoring, before that was I guess every 20mins. Now HR sensor works all the time. That is probably the culprit of increased battery usage

@alfredzhong I get between 7 and 10 days, depending on activities. For workouts lasting more than two hours, I typically get an estimated 38 - 39 hours of battery time on performance mode, more than 70 on endurance (calculated from workout battery usage per hour).

I’ve never seen more battery being used while using two S+ apps, but it was reported here that it might be the case (of up to 30% more, I think?).

Try killing the watch by getting the battery down to 0% and then to 100% and see if it helps.

Also, you don’t have full backlight active 24/7?

@Łukasz-Szmigiel Yep, no backlight at all (even backlight at raise wrist is off. I find it annoying). And i don’t use S+ apps.

Wearing S9PP for about one month. The battery seems to become considerable. It can last about 2 weeks now, with about 3 ~ 4 hours cycling per week.
It met my expectations. I’ve got no complaint about it.
Now looking forward for the firmware update this month.

@alfredzhong What matters to me is GPS tracking time, I don’t care if I have to charge once a week or every other week. I did a recent 100 mile (162k) ultra with the 9PP and at 34h (yes I was slow) I still had battery life left. I used the watch on Performance mode with a route loaded. Quite happy with that. This was on a pre-release version of the firmware that will be coming.
