How much GB Memory 16 or 32 GB
-
@GiPFELKiND that should be true, steel has less onboard storage. Enough for quite some maps, but half the Titanium (or Vertical).
-
@isazi hmmmmmmm i want the midnight color but only 16GB storage!? otherwise i only need complete Germany, Austria and Croatia that should work with steel version!?
-
@GiPFELKiND I believe you have a Vertical, right? In Suunto App you can see how much storage the maps you downloaded are using. For me it is currently 6.9 GB.
-
@GiPFELKiND
I’ve filled my watch with maps, just for the hell of it… it took me quite a while.
…now I need a very good sponsor to be able to visit all these places before I diemy 2 cents: don’t worry about storage. despite that I would personally choose titanium over steel for the comfort. but that’s individual of course
-
@freeheeler yes but the darker Titanium from the Vertical looks better than the Titanium from the Race. And the midnight blue looks fantastic
-
@isazi The question is: for what is the internal memory used? The app says that I have downloaded 9,58GB with maps, and that I have 18,42GB memory free… there are 4GB missing… is this the firmware, or training data?
-
@SuperFlo75 the eMMC memory is used for maps and for workout recordings in Vertical and Race. So that we don’t run out of memory with those looong recordings or multi-day events where one charges before downloading to SA.
-
@SuperFlo75 yes, 4GB reserved for everything except maps, which includes workouts and maybe used for something else in the future, like FW
-
@isazi yes i have a Vertical but in few hours i have a Race and a Vertical

I can not find this info on Suunto’s website in the specifications for these watches. So as far as people who buys these watches from Suunto the only difference is the materials in the case and the crystal. That they are getting only half the storage in the steel version is conveniently missing so they as customers will not be aware. Or did I miss something? Unacceptable by Suunto! They should clearly inform about this on their website.

@Joakim-Ågren Fully agree. At least it should be listed in the specifications. Preferably also mentioning how much of the 16/32GB is available to the user.
