Might I Suggest a Suunto Branded Nylon Velcro Watch Band
-
@Lexlehtor I couldn’t find Yooside straps with the standard quick-release mecanism (only the garmin quicfit stuff), how did you do it ?
-
I have been using these with my SV and they are super comfortable and cheap.
-
I’ve been using Apple Watch trail loop knock-offs on most of my watches. Here’s one on a Vertical:
I don’t like the plastic connectors on most of the velcro straps. These can be attached with regular spring bars, although they work better with thicker ones like these.
You do need to remove the metal Apple Watch connectors and most of these are 24mm wide. I usually trim 1mm off each side only where the strap needs to pass through the lugs, leaving the part that rests on the wrist wide.
These are crazy cheap and comfortable. The only downside is they aren’t quick release if you like to change your strap often.

@duffman19 what kind of pins do you need to mount for this? Would be quite cool as you could then fit velcro loops or 22m quickfit bands
-
@Pier-Luigi-Cingolani Regular 22mm spring bars will work, but the fatter ones (2-2.5mm) are a bit more sturdy and allow the strap to slide through easier. I use these - https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B09D44V3SN/?th=1
If you want to use Garmin QuickFit bands, I believe they use a bar that is 2.3mm thick (according to the packaging on some replacement bars I got directly from Garmin). Just tried a QuickFit on my 2.5mm bars and it did not quite click into place. So a 2.0mm thick bar would probably work as well.

Guess I’ll be the weirdo wearing an awesome piece of hardware with a competitor’s strap.Well I guess I’ll be a wierdo too : just ordered a blue one (no suunto blue strap available) !

@duffman19 I agree the plastic looks a little cheap but if Suunto were to produce these with metal or titanium to match the Vertical/Race color scheme it would be a huge win for them. Apple charges $99 USD for theirs. I’ve got a few different options on order and will post pics in the coming days.

@Elipsus they don’t have the quick release. That’s why you need additional spring bars. Some spring bars have quick release system. Haven’t tested though.
-
This is the Ancool quick release. Nice look but the strap is a little too long. They do feel like a quality band and the metal attachments are a nice touch. The Coros straps I’m using fit much better. Oddly Ancool ships to hexagon tools with this band…not really sure what the purpose for that is.
-
This Coros band is money…the red and gray along with compass watch face make the watch pop.
-
@craigeggleton Looks good! I just noticed that Coros got rid of the plastic connectors on the nylon bands for the Pace 3.
Looks like there’s a quick release built into the one end and some sort of new finger nail release system on the other. They’ve got a video showing how it works.
You could still easily lose that spring bar if you’re swapping it out regularly, but I prefer the look and feel without the additional plastic things. Perhaps I’ll give one a try, but $30 for a nylon band is steep for me since I’m used to getting 3 knock-offs for $10!

I am tempted to buy a Velcro strap, but I am also tempted to buy a Suunto microfiber strap, so how about the latter? Pro & Cons? I don’t sweat much and it looks really comfortable.
-
I’ve finished my testing and the clear winner for me (fixed indentation issue and most comfortable band) goes to the Garmin Ultrfit
-
@craigeggleton what are the springbars you use with the Ultrafit band?

I used it with my S9b.
Very confortable to wear, but finally didn’t used it for sports, only for everyday wear.
I found that it had to be tightened too much for sports, and also got dirty and sweaty too quickly.
Didn’t bought it for my SV. -
@Lieven-DB I chose Wellfit and them seem qulaity [https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07GBMXLYF?ref=ppx_yo2ov_dt_b_product_details&th=1&psc=1

I use the microfiber strap on my 9PP for daily life, looks good, very comfortable, HR reading is okayish for my bike commute
My only gripe is that the things that hold the extra band to the side are very easy to loose and I already lost one -
Wanted to try a blue one…
Nice to wear. Plastic connectors not very nice.
Promise I’ll buy plenty of Suunto stuff to make me forgiven for this crime of lèse-majesté !Hope having resized the picture to cut the brand name makes me already « half forgiven » !

Not to hijack this thread too much but has anyone tried a leather strap with the race?
Are the peak ones suitable? https://www.suunto.com/en-nl/Products/Straps/suunto-22mm-urban-6-leather-strap/suunto-22mm-urban-6-leather-strap-all-black-m/
Also open to other suggestions/brands

Coros strap from decathlon. Tad cheaper than the Garmin version and, since I’ve swapped it with the Suunto strap, I’ve hardly noticed it.
