Too used to the old ways?
-
Hey everyone, I just got the Race yesterday, and I’m not sure if I’m having buyers remorse, or if I am just realizing what my preferences are. I have had the Spartan Sport Trainer, The Spartan Sport WHR Baro, and the 9 Peak. When I’ve been using the race, I’m finding that I’ve been missing the 3 button navigation and that I think I prefer the old display style. I thought I’d like the brighter and more defined screen of the Race, but I think I’m finding it a bit too “in your face.” Has anyone else had that feeling before of “I kind of like the old ways,” with the Race? Did you get over it and just took some time to adapt to the different style? Not sure if I want to try and sell my Race and go for a Vertical… It sucks that the watch works great, but I’m just so comfortable with the typical Suunto system. Thanks for any input!

@AP852
I’m using the Race and also Vertical in parallel and can say that I personally got used to the Race very quickly. not only how to interact with the watch, but also with the screen.
I would recommend to stick with it and give it a try.
in the end both watches are very similar and humans adapt quickly to everything -
@AP852 you just changed.
« I prefer the way it was before » is the typical « fear feeling » when changing habits.
Keep going, in a few days/weeks you probably gonna feel like « wow it’s so cool !! ».
Had the same feelings when i switched from A3p to S9b, or from movescount to SA !…and never used them again ! -

All good points. and @Tieutieu that fear of change is totally me! One thing that I do know won’t change in regards to the screen is the ability to have it always on like on my 9 Peak. With the AMOLED screen, it just wouldn’t work, but with the other display, it’s no problem because it isn’t such a battery hog. Maybe I’m being too picky, but it just makes me second guess myself.

After going from a Fenix 6x to an Epix pro, the lack of always on does take some getting used to, as does the slight lag get the screen on with wrist movement.
Just bought a Race as the epix screen is too small for my poor eyesight, and my issues are no Parkrun barcode, and no connection to vitality to get pints.
