S9P stopped showing VO2max
-
@Luciano-P yeah, me too including my SV. i think because of the latest SA update. also depend on what activities you do. my running and trail run still got the value there. so i guess not related to running the value no longer show it.
-
@Luciano-P What sports are missing VO2Max?
-
Thank you for your answer. I am not a runner, so I have always used walking and hiking. V02max also allowed to calculate sports age, it’s frustrating not have it
-
@Luciano-P reset as in reboot or hard reset? If you did a hard reset, now the watch needs to start the process of computing your first value, and if you don’t run that may take more than one activity to happen.
-
@Luciano-P same issue for me. Did not make any hard or soft reset.
The only thing I did was going for a run last week. Since then Vo2max value is not displayed any more at the hike activities (even though it tagged one activity as “vo2max”). -
@Patrick-Rx as explained in another thread:
VO2max calculations need a certain data quality.
That means a sufficiently long run in different HR zones. Plus proper GPS reception and good HR data quality.
If those conditions are not met, the calculation is rather not done instead of yielding bad results. -
@Egika it’s my weekly after-work hike which has the same data quality as always. I don’t actually care that Vo2max value is not dispayed any more because it is way off in hikes anyway. just noticed…
-
@Patrick-Rx agreed. the Vo2max value is not accurate for hiking. better don’t show it for hiking activity and for activities that not related to it. should be more related to running especially on flat road.
so i think Suunto purposely removed Vo2max value for certain activities. -
At this point, I don’t understand why, if something doesn’t work well, instead of implementing it and taking the opportunity to improve it, it is removed.
-
@Luciano-P IF this was the case (and I am currently not sure it was actually removed):
Things that make no sense cannot really be improved.
Like guessing VO2max (read loud: “max”) from low impact activities maybe just is a bad idea and physically cannot work. It’s maybe similar to guessing a car’s max power from riding it within city limits for some time…
-
double post - do you guys also get “server load too high” messages more often recently?
-
@Egika yes.
-
@Egika Since yesterday, the watch has started showing VO2 max for walking and hiking again.
