Amend recorded GPS data (using the app) !?
-
Hi there,
I am new to this forum - so please don’t shoot me if this is not the right place for this question. Anyhow: I recently recorded an excercise (on my S9PP) with some tunnels. I noticed that GPS was then sometimes off track and recorded incorrect positions. Therefore, the overall km-count is incorrect as well. I tried to fix this but did not find any place in the app where I could correct the recorded GPS track.
Any thoughts/ideas?
Thanks. Oli

@blitzbayer Correct how? There is no way to trim/edit a gpx track itself via the app. But you could edit it with external tools and use some other tools to import the edited activity to the suunto app.
But if you want to correct just the distance, you can do it in the app. -
@DMytro Got it. Yes, I would want to erase some of the trackpoints that were incorrectly recorded (in e.g. Komoot you can do something like that). Also when I forget to stop the recording, I might want to cut off the last part of the recording. Okay, thanks for the confirmation that this is not possible within the app. So another thing that sounds like a good product enhancement suggestion, I suppose.

@blitzbayer yep, it was suggested already, quite long ago in fact. You can use the ‘search’ function and vote/comment on that thread to keep it alive. Eventually we might nudge suunto to introduce this feature haha.

@blitzbayer
I think it’s very difficult to erase single track points. crop activity (shorten it in case you forget to stop it at the “finish line”) is a feature requested by some users, incl me. I raise this request frequently in surveys, too. let’s hope it gets implemented eventually… nice bike

@freeheeler Well, even though it might not be an easy think to allow edits for recorded GPS data, other tools can do. I think in the end the question is, how far Suunto want to go with their app/tools. I agree, the GPS-topic might go too far. Anyhow, hope is there. So if you can point me to existing suggestions, I will surely upvote those.
PS: Yes, the bike is very very nice. I can definitely recommend it (YT Capra)
