Suunto 9 Peak Pro: problem connecting to Phone Google Pixel 6
-
@sartoric this is the way.

@sartoric
First of all, thank you for your reply I did the pairing via the Suunto App, not via BT. It doesn’t work! My question is: has anyone had problems pairing with the Google Pixel?
Because I have redone the procedure 1,000 times without success. I refreshed the phone’s Bluetooth data, uninstalled and reinstalled the App… Nothing -
@Belodevici Works fine with Pixel 6a (after not being able to connect with a Nokia … similar to what you have with your Pixel).
-
@Belodevici remove the connection in the watch (if there’s any). Then, remove connection in the android. After that, try connecting in Suunto App.
-
@Belodevici
Reboot the phone after beeing sure to have unpaired from everywhere (watch, app, Bluetooth settings). -
@Belodevici hi, i also have a pixel 6 and fortunately no problems with the connection… latest version security update etc… maybe check if you have other devices connected (headphones etc.) I would turn them off. If your Vertical is already visible under Bluetooth devices… please delete it… Then restart your phone and try to pair the watch via the Suunto app… good luck…

@Belodevici I had the same problems and I tried like an hour (Redmi/Xiaomi phone). The only thing that helped was to connect the watch first via Bluetooth. I got finally the pin and then I opened the the app again and finally it was possible to connect the watch with the app.
-
@Belodevici I have the same problem with Google 7.
I paired with my wife’s (not Google’s) phone. -

@Piotr-Grygiel
might be a pixel issue, because we have this very similar thread.
https://forum.suunto.com/topic/9230/issue-pairing-baro-9-with-pixel-7/10in my case it helped to clear cache and storage of SA and start pairing again. the correct way to connect is to let SA build the connection.

Same issue here connecting to a Pixel 7a.
I was able to pair it without any issue to my old OnePlus phone (just as a test, after hours of unsuccessful tries on my Pixel), but my the Pixel never gets to the scren that is supposed to ask the passcode. The watch doesn’t show any passcode either.
(I tried everything, unpair on phone, unpair on watch, restart watch/phone, reset watch, reset network settings on phone… the only thing I didn’t try yet is a full factory reset of the phone, and I hope I shouldn’t have to do that) -
There seems to be a pattern here, and it has been reported to Suunto internally already. I will forward this discussion to Suunto too, so they are aware there is something wrong with the App and Pixel phones.

@isazi Thank you. It would be a very welcome and useful thing.
-
@Jean-Pascal-Houde I finally fixed it but I had to do a full factory reset of the Pixel 6. Something “disturbed” the pairing process, but it is difficult to say now what it was. I think it is appropriate to report it to Suunto…

I’m having the same issue with a new 9 Peak Pro and Pixel 7 Pro, and i’ve tried all troubleshooting steps suggested in the thread. Please let us know if you manage to push a hotfix to the app for this issue. From what i can tell the problem seems to be that the app can’t/won’t trigger Android to show the window where you can enter the passcode from the watch. When trying to pair the watch as any other bluetooth device the window is shown normally and the watch provides a passcode.

I dug up my Samsung Galaxy S20 FE and tried pairing with the app and that worked flawlessly. Please let us know in this thread if you find a fix
-
I’m assuming this is likely not a simple issue as it’s happening to a number of users but just wanted to throw this out there: have you confirmed that your app is not denied any connectivity or location permissions?
I’m using Pixel 6 Pro and the beta app. And no issues connecting 9PP and the A3P before it. I haven’t had to take any particular workarounds.

@Belodevici Today we sloved in the following way
Split the phone screen into two screens at the top the Suunto app will appear in the pairing phase
In the bottom screen bluetooth settings
Pairing with the bluetooth and immediately clicking pairing in the Sunto app -
This workaround worked on my end! Thanks!

@Danny-poleg that worked for me too. Thanks!
