Instant heart rate on Suunto 9 broken? Always shows 60 bpm
-
@Xande-Macedo said in Instant heart rate on Suunto 9 broken? Always shows 60 bpm:
Since I got the watch (last week) and I even updated to the latest firmware the instant hear rate always show 60 bpm while the daily HR shows the true range of my heart rate. I am pretty sure this is a bug especially when my resting is 46bpm. Anyone experiencing this? What should I do?
I would consider reinstalling the firmware. My S9 does not do this, if not measuring HR I see – when scrolling to the HR screen.

@Brad_Olwin do you use 24/7 ?/
-
@Dimitrios-Kanellopoulos yes, it is turned on
-
@Brad_Olwin how do i reinstall the firmware?
-
I think its no need. Its a confirmed buggy behaviour. Just let it poll for some time. It will show the correct.
-
@Xande-Macedo To reinstall firmware in Suuntolink there is an option. Don’t have my computer but you should be able to find it.

Any news on this. A watch this expensive that doesn’t show instant heart rate is kind of unacceptable. I have to look at the 60bpm for over 30 seconds to start seeing real-time BPM that sometimes I think is also innacuracy. Is my watch defective? Should I return it?
-
@Xande-Macedo no its not. Ohr needs some warmup time to lock. 60 is most probably the previous value.
-
Same behavior here. Takes around 10-12s in display the correct information (sometimes 15-25s). I don´t know if is a coincidence, but the HR start from 60 when I leave that S9 dim the display, always. If the display is not dimmed, works better. 60 never was a value from my readings.

@flypg it is how valancell sensors works, they all are having starting point in s9 case 60bmp, in spartan/scosche rhythm 72bmp and it is quite annoying, until real hr is clocked why just do not show nothing double dash or moving circle… less confuse for customers…

@SlaSh Thanks for the explanation, I agree, with just display " - - " like when I turn on the “Daily HR” is more clear for the customers.
