Bring from Movescount to Suunto app
-
Hi,
I would like to suggest what I need to start using the Suunto app instead Movescount with me Spartan.
I am a long time a Garmin user but the Spartan is worth to try it. The hardware is amazing but I have some things I miss and in the Suunto app I don’t find. So here is my feedback.
-
Heatmaps of Movescount are great. Is one of the reasons I love it.
-
Epoc and Vo2 and all the data from FirstBeat is not here. This data with VHR is very useful.
-
Running dynamics. I solve it with a Stryd but…
-
Swimming mode: here is where I struggle the most. Drills are missing, swolf and strokes data…
I know Suunto is not as big as Garmin but they can do it very good.

- Already in suunto APP
- Firstbeat licenced product from suunto is only Suunto fitness 3
- Will be solved once sync enabled to strava.
-
@SlaSh Thank you for the reply.
The firstbeat license is very complicated to bring to the spartan series? My baro will love it.
-
@Bulkan it is chargable, so dont know if suunto is willing to introduce it to spartan line.
-
@Bulkan Firstbeat algorithms are payed each time that are integrated in one device. There are so many algorithms available but this increase costs because of licensing. Like other payed software.
-
- Not in Android version
-
I think @Bulkan - correct me if I’m wrong - wants the EPOC and VO2 data we see in Movescount to be displayed in the Suunto app. If that’s the case, it might not be a licensing issue. EPOC is there on Android (can’t remember about iOS), so we’re just waiting for VO2 max of the movtivity.
We already have a request in for the swimming data, @Bulkan: search and (up)vote! I think it’s @SlaSh and I grumbling.
-
@Ze-Stuart EPOC, PTE and VO2max I have with my S3F and the iOS APP
but no altitudes also no correct speed
-
@Armin-S because sf3 is firstbeat licensed
you should even have PTE 2.0. -
@SlaSh That means?
-
@Armin-S that means you are getting more data than we do, for example sleep quality
