Does anyone know if Suunto App maps shows when I’m hiking and I need to view where the hike is started and the path did in real time?

I mean without pre charge a route but only when I open Suunto App maps.
It seems Suunto App can’t be updated when you use Suunto 9 Peak to register activity.

      Thank you for your help!

@Marco-Robbiani if you mean whether SuuntoApp itself (so not the watch) has routing capabilities, it doesn’t. So it’s not like komoot or Google maps in that regard. But you can surely make a route in advance, than open that route in Suunto App and you will see your real time location based on the phone’s GPS. I suppose you can use these rudimentary tools to understand where you came from and where you need to go. Notice, suunto app does not download the map, but it cashes the part that you viewed for some time.

You can however use an extension navigation suite of your watch.

additionally, to complete the answer from @DMytro Suunto watches do not send live tracking info to SA during the activity. it’s not like a second, external display.
you can create a route in SA, as mentioned, while you’re recording an activity with your watch and sync it to the watch on the fly.

I am not sure if this helps with what you are looking for. I assume you’ve asked because of a specific reason and something special you want to do or share?

If you open the map screen in Suunto App you can see the dot representing yourself, using the phone location provider (GPS/wifi/bluetooth/etc).
