I’ve read in this forum somewhere Suunto will have a long-awaited firmware update to the 9PP this spring.

Any insights or info?

Suunto usually releases their FW every quarter, but they care a lot of the testing part. So I will not expect a near FW release

I don’t know if the S9PP can get watchfaces via SA Store… this is the only way I see for new things in a Suunto Watch

Next software update will contain some main changes, but it may contain more changes than I know, especially for S9PP because of its new UI.
My bet, we will see it in the spring.

@cosme-costa anything related to the UI, no. But there are also not UI related things, and they are all coming to the old UI watches, for what I have seen so far.

@mikekoski490 suunto doesn’t disclose it’s update schedule.
I have heard rumors in the forum that in the coming weeks we should get a fix update that should take care of the reboots on S9 watches.
As for the feature update: I’m sure it’s in the works, but I guess if we’re getting a fix update by the end of march, then we should get a feature update by the end of April at the earliest, most likely even later.

It’s interesting to me that the updates have become a bit less consistent lately - for the past couple of years suunto has released something quarterly. Probably has to do with the increased number of devices.

Sorry, but don’t expect any feature updates for s9pp.
It is my bad lack.

I bought SSU in 2019 and after that I got only one minor update for this watch.

Then I bought S7 in spring 2021 and got only one minor security update later that year.

Now I bought S9PP…

@mikekoski490 today I got new version of Suunto app with some long time waited functions. (I’m in beta)
Now it is possible to filter and search in imported or created routes and poi-s.
This alone really made my day. Thanks a lot Suunto

If a new firmware would come out for my 9PP … that is amazing.

S9PP will get an update, other watches will get an update too. Spring is 3 months long though, so don’t expect it today
