I just noticed something. I sometimes set altitude manually and on the older watches we could go to the outdoor screen, hold the middle button and I would get options to auto adjust altitude, manually type it, etc. Every page on the old watches had some mid button long press options. On the S9PP long pressing the middle button on any widget just returns to the watch face. I think it would be more valuable to have additional options on widgets when long press the mid button than to return to watch face.

@Dušan-Ković Thanks for posting this. I just received my S9PP yesterday and it’s performing awesome so far. But just this morning I was trying to reset the altimeter with the ‘hold middle button’ shortcut…didn’t work and I could have sworn it did on the S9P. Probably coming in an update.

You can keep the middle button held down and it’ll return to the watch face and then immediately go into general settings.

I also miss the context specific shortcuts from my A3P but this is something I’m learning overtime.

@Dušan-Ković Suunto is aware of this, the UI designers are still working on the interface and the contextual menu for widgets is on the drawing board.

@isazi Awesome, I really wished they did more on the Ui side, especially that they had new “clean slate”. I hope they will upgrade it over time.

@Dušan-Ković lots of development on the new interface, as you can imagine is the interface that Suunto will use on its new products for a while. Of course not everything will come, or come soon, but it is moving.

@Dušan-Ković yep. this will be improved. Starting with a new concept means to deliver something stable and as bug free as possible. This is what we find with the release.
From now on the UI will be improved and tweaked. I hope long press shortcuts will be part of it 🙂

Does the new S9PP software allow widgets to be added independently of watch firmware updates? For example can Suunto add a weather widget or Training Load widget without updating the watch firmware? Theoretically of course……😀

@deserthike20 I don’t think so at the moment.
Since Suunto+ features actually can be loaded independently from the watch firmware, it could actually make sense to be able to use S+ features when in watch mode. Let’s see where this whole S+ thing will lead. I am sure Suunto has some cool ideas about it 🙂
