Regarding the barometric trend, I have a question.
On my A3P there were 3 settings: alti , baro, automatic. When camping I set it to baro mode, so I could be sure that all the baro changes were actually baro. Now with the S9P there is only automatic mode so I’m wondering what else comes into play to make sure I am only capturing barometric variations (with A3P when in automatic mode happened that sudden strong baro changes made the A3P set to altimeter…) . Thanks.

@_giovanni Recent Suunto watches don’t need the manual selection anymore. They basically rely on the automatic setting only. The algorithm was improved and during recording an activity or on demand the altitude is adjusted automatically.

Yesterday my region was affected by a severe weather front with thunderstorms, pouring rain and a significant change in atmospheric pressure. The s9p performed very well (only a small, negligible, change in altitude ~ 5m) with the storm warning being reported in time. I would also add that the altitude in automatic mode is surprisingly accurate, definitely more accurate than the a3p.

@gi0vanni My experience, as well. I’m often surprised how accurate altitude measurement with S9P is 😄
